Be interesting to see how quickly NIL money has an effect on the NFL rookie salary scale. The rookie scale was set without any market to compete against. It's obviously skewed towards teams, as rookies had no say or leverage when it was negotiated. Does Carrington Valentine making $850K a year compared to Jaire's $21M salary sound right? Although it's a great deal for us a team it sure doesn't sound right to me. There is performance based pay that is added on at the end of the year but it's small in comparison.
Yeah it's a pretty rough system for the average player when you consider how few actually get a second contract. Now I do understand wanting to reward the vets who do make it past 4 years but they probably need to balance it out a bit in the next CBA.

Sounds like Nebraska has flipped Dylan Raiola from Georgia. I get the legacy, but that'd still be wild.

Apparently Joe Philbin is the leading candidate to be Iowa's next offensive coordinator

His uncle just got a big extension from Nebraska iirc. Also players seem to be leaving Georgia in droves right now

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

Yeah college football wont do that. The conferences wont do it. They love the current setup padding their wallets.

Deion really struggling in Colorado. Currently has the 94th rated class and is dead last among Big 12 schools

He seems to put more effort and resources into the portal. I would not be sad if he flamed out though.

Honestly feels like the stars are starting to align for Harbaugh to Pete Carroll his way out of Michigan.

Yeah - I think he's trying to play the underavalued resource of, "we're gonna be the portal team" which is a great idea in basketball. I don't think it's going to work out in football. The portal guys at Wisconsin last year were...fine. For Colorado, just double the amount of players they got (this year) with a much **** base of homegrown guys.

Florida State has called a special board of trustees meeting for Friday morning.

While no official reason was given for the meeting, sources indicated to ESPN that the board is expected to discuss its long-term athletics future.

Can't blame them, the ACC is a shinking ship

Totally. I should expand my lol.

1. The contract and agreement they all signed was laughably locked-down for an obscene length of time. Just astonishingly bad foresight from everyone involved. Like, could single-handedly be the thing that sticks a fork in the conference. It's awful.
2. FSU's been upset with it for like 2 years now, so much so that the conference finally caved to give them and Clemson more money as opposed to all equal shares...and now they're upset all over again anyways after the snub.

How long until the bowl sponsors start demanding changes to the portal? Some of these games were already a joke, but now key players are missing them to transfer out.
