McAfee talking up about how he thinks the Packers are going to do something on draft night - trade up or trade for a vet WR. Mentioned McLaurin & Kennen Allen again. Sounded like mostly speculation based off of comments by Murphy and MLF.

Will there be a draft night prediction thread for what posters think the Pack will do versus what they think they should do?

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

I think Love should be traded, probably for whatever they can get. I don't know why you would keep him around at this point.

Just put it in this thread. Nothing else going on but the draft.

Yes, 7M in the next 2 seasons for a "rookie" backup QB doesn't help anything, still, we could spend a Day 3 pick in a QB if Love really gets traded.

Read on Twitter

Pack is probably keeping Love. They'll figure out some way to extend him if he looks good this upcoming camp/preseason/season.

AR is definitely a year to year thing. A major injury this year and he could retire. Most/all of the receivers we pick up this year suck and we have a bad season, he could retire. Any number of reasons and he could call it quits after this year. Is that enough to keep Love around? Personally I say no. When Rodgers does call it quits we'll take a big cap hit the next season, tank with a scrub QB and get a nice pick to grab a (hopefully) good rookie QB. If we can get a second rounder this year for Love do it. It's a weak QB draft class but I'm not so sure we can get a second for him.

There is no reason to trade Love , we used a first round pick and I think a 4th to get him , he has learned our system for the last few years and really he is not anymore expensive than a veteran back up would cost us .

There's definitely a good reason--Aaron will still be on the team when Love gets his second contract.
But if they trade him, they have to get someone else to back up, and ideally someone you wouldn't feel bad starting for a few games.

I guess maybe , so what do you think his trade value is.we really don't know what kind of talent he has , maybe the packers at this point view him as quality back up with years in our system and could win a couple of games in case of a injury to Rodgers , so why go get a back up who would be new to the system and probably just as expensive. Unless of course there is team that thinks that he worth a second or third round pick . then maybe trade him.

Assuming Rodgers goes down for like three games and Love looks good, his value sky rockets.

Assuming Rodgers pulls the plug after this season, it will be nice to have Love here.

So I am not trading him for anything less than a high second. More value to us on the roster and more potential to raise his value if we choose to trade him later.

If he is worth a third or less now, it’s not like a big deal if he plays poorly and is only worth a 5th or 6th. It’s worth the gamble that he he raises his value and or becomes the starter if Rodgers retires after this season

A fun bit of clickbait that might apply to the trading Jordan Love discussion: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2022-nfl-draft-sorting-13-teams-by-likelihood-of-taking-a-qb-early-with-panthers-steelers-leading-the-pack/

Rating list of relative likelihood of teams picking QBs round one, versus standing pat, versus trading for a second tier vet.

As I wrote, just a fun read - your mileage may vary on how much stock you put into its logic.

All I know is I would take Love over any QB in this draft. My guess is he would have some value. Atlanta and Houston are both teams that could be looking for a young QB and may not necessarily want to use their high first rounders on one in this draft.

Chargers aren't trading Keenan Allen.

I suspect (hope?) that Gute has opened up communication with teams that might like Love, but I'd bet most of them want to see what might be available to them in the draft. If he's traded, I'd guess it's after round one.

I've been pretty vocally against this notion that you have to trade Love (why?), but if some team like Atlanta is offering their 2nd, then I think you'd be hard-pressed to turn that down.

Watching the Rich Bisaccia presser and I'd run through a wall for him.
