Since declaring for the NFL Draft, Walker has slowly crept up the rankings, but after his performance at the NFL Combine, his skillset piqued many NFL teams. Not only does Walker have the skillset to be a starter in the NFL, but he has the ideal measurables as well. He stands a hair below 6-foot-4, with a 6-foot-8 wingspan and weighing in at 240 pounds. His frame paired with his 4.52 forty time made heads turn.

Walker is an instinctive linebacker when in the trenches, a ferocious tackler in space and he can shed blocks with ease.

When Georgia’s defense was running nickel or dime packages, Walker was often lined up covering underneath routes. When outside the hashes, he can be a bit handsy on receivers, but has a quick pursuit to the ball and his ferocious tackling stops ball carriers in their tracks.

Walker was used all over the field on this stacked Georgia defense. He filled run lanes between tackles, played as an overhang defender in 3×1 situations, blitzed the A-gap, rushed the passer from the edge, and we often saw him chase down ball carriers from the opposite side of the field. One area where he must improve is his man-coverage in the intermediate and deep part of the field against physical tight ends.

Once drafted, his ideal role would be an inside linebacker who can play off the ball in open space; but he can also fill a middle linebacker role (MIKE), if needed.

With only one area of his game that needs improvement, NFL coaching will make Walker an immediate starter.

I did. And I'll admit he might be the better pro. His comp is basically a more athletic Kenny Clark. I really like the pick, I'd just like to know more about the domestic issues. After work today I read a defector article about a Bengals offensive line draft pick last year that made my skin crawl and I'm hoping the Packers didn't draft a piece of **** too.

Yeah totally understandable. Terrorizing someone is not acceptable. I do hope he's managed to overcome some of these "hiccups" as Gute so poorly said.

Good player. Most had Lloyd and Dean 1 and 2 in some order so a bit surprising Walker went before one of them. Let's hope for the best I guess lol.

Dean was too short and Lloyd a couple years older than Walker. That explains it completely.

Johnson was probably small for the packer's edge criteria; doesn't explain why they didn't take Karlaftis.

This was a glaring flaw that nobody really discussed this offseason. It's why I wanted Jordan Davis or another stud ILB

30th in yards/attempt. 11th in rushing yards given up.

Watched some highlights and he seems to have great physical tools but pretty poor tackling form. Like he expects to be able to just bulldoze into people with his pads high and still get them to the ground with some grappling. I guess I would have said the same thing about Campbell too, but they both seem to have tentacles for arms to make tackles without typical pad technique. Maybe he's just saying upright to be ready to move laterally.

Well he's a good fit for our defense then, considering Mike always complained about our pad level.

I'm not mad at the pick at all. ILB has been neglected for years. Campbell was a God send. This kid hopefully will develop well with the elite tools he has.

Joe Barry is going to love this kid. He seems like a pretty versatile defender that can be utilized like a swiss army knife. Can even rush some on the edge and plays well out in space and can cover TE's.
