ROUND 2 - #34 - Christian Watson - ND State

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Fri Apr 29, 2022 11:22 pm

Sorry guys, there were several threads started for this pick and I initially deleted them all. This site sucks on the phone.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Wanted Pickens but if Watson is their guy, then he's my guy. Let's go!

MD - Leave the draft pick threads to the experienced vet and stop deleting the threads that come in before yours. Come on.

I definitely also wanted Pickens, but Watson feels more like a Packer. I'm excited!

I hope he's a quick study. Taking the small school guy over the dude who dominated the SEC as an 18 year old is a choice.

He's big, he's fast. We'll see if he can routinely get open against NFL talent and catch.

Aaron said he's playing on working with the WR's, so here's a guy in the MVS size bucket.

I'm glad they moved up, because I doubt any of the best remaining guys would've been there at 53. I'd rather have Pickens as well, but oh well. Giving up both 2nd stings, but MIN had us by the balls.

You would think they would have asked Stokes about Pickens to get some intel. Will be interesting to see when Pickens goes and how he does compared to Watson.

I liked Watson. I think he'll be good.

Though a part of me wonders - Rodgers said yesterday that they had six WRs with first round grades and they were all gone by 22. They're taking Watson in the high second - implying to me that he had basically a first round grade in their eyes, too. Why not take him at 28 and see if Wyatt slides to the second round, then? A ton of teams apparently didn't have him on their board.

Is the cost of moving up worth the Wyatt/Watson moves?

I worry about Watsons route running ability, seems most reports on him talk about vertical routes and that’s about it.

Now package the rest of our picks and move up to get Pickens or Pierce. :D
