I can’t believe how horrible Mertz ended up being.

It was game when they didn't go for 2 after the TD. What are the odds of them scoring another TD? They might have at least had a chance if they got it to 14-11 and the defense/special teams held to give them a chance to tie it with a FG.

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

Down 2 scores when Iowa has 100 yards of offense sums up our season well

I'm worried about good players transferring if they don't get someone better than Mertz.

I know they're excited about Burkett, but he's going to be a RS Freshman with one series worth of experience next year. And I'm going to be real curious to see if Mertz's job is truly in jeopardy or if he'll get the 'he's shown great improvement and we're going with the Senior' treatment. This situation, if any other at Wisconsin, gives me hope that it will truly be an open job.

Oh look, Mertz soiled another diaper. Couldn't pass up a chance to squeeze one more out before the game mercifully ends.

Under the old guy I think this would be the case, but with Leonhard I am more optimistic that Mertz will have to actually compete for the gig.
