Being good up front helps cover up having a **** d-coordinator.

Also, he looks like he should live in the Tik-Tok house.

I like Van Ness, and think he will be good. He was always in my group of guys. Lots of similarities to Gary. Could we have traded back a few spots and got him? Probably.

Will never complain about drafting a premium position of need. Looks to have a pretty high ceiling as well.

Bears fan who is dating Kmet's sister. Perfect!

Honestly, no clue how someone can hate this. High risk/high reward and I am fine with that. People can hate passing on JSN or whatever, but we are sitting at 20 and no WR/TE have been drafted yet for a reason.

You think maybe you should look at scouting projection that had him as a top 10 prospect instead of one of the few that clearly rated him low? Or is the Gute hate strong enough that it doesntt actually matter cause there's types of svouting reports would've been available for pretty much any player drafted?

Just food for thought

Yup, busts are determined on Twitter

Not who I would be picked with how the board fell but clearly not a bad pick. Premium position with high upside that was ranked in the draft pick range he was selected

Joe Alexander probably would have been better at TE than he was at basketball. Added bonus the Packers don't have cheerleaders so he could have avoided that mess.

It’s not that they picked him. It’s that they picked him at 13. Why even do the pick swap?

Only 21, and only played 2 years. There is upside. This isn't like drafting 25-year old Kyler Fackrell.

There's just no way to go down this road unless you have access to the Packers draft board. If they really liked him and the Jets or Patriots snag him at 13/14 you feel sick.

Generally top ~15 is the sweet spot for DL/Edge guys. I think 70% of DL/Edge pro bowlers the last 5 years have been taken in that range. The good ones go early. I don't know much about Van Ness, but I'm not upset with the strategy

I would've liked JSN if only because he would've been the first WR off the board and we don't usually get that opportunity

When we drafted Love we traded up in front of NE who then traded down and later on admitted they were considering Love.

We traded up in front of NE again and a few minutes after taking Van Ness, they traded down.

Pats love drafting high IQ players. Van Ness was taking AP calculus and is in the National Honor Society. Jets also took a pass rusher two picks later. If you want Van Ness then why not include a trade up two spots to make sure you take him. Again, he would not have been my pick but you can't deny his potential.

It's a position where very few of the elite players don't have elite athleticism for their size and only so many of these aliens exist so they go high in the draft.

Pretty sure he was in that LFO band (I'm embarrassed I know who they are. Well, were).
