If Clifford is supposed to be so football savvy, does he become the ace scout team QB? Parroting known tendencies of upcoming opponents on the practice field?

Imagine being drafted to be a coach. (if that's the case)

Turn him into Matt Flynn.

To be fair, if he knows this much about football, it might be the start of his new career. Maybe his future is more like a HC than a player.

This pick must be performance art because I don’t understand it.

Is Guty trying to give Love confidence by getting the worst QB in the NFL to back him up? Like 7D chess?

Maybe we want to groom him as a future QB coach and this is the way to get him in the building?

And maybe they expect he plays a thanasis role as Jordan's buddy during practice, study time, on the sideline whispering words of wisdom...

Bizarre pick, a back up whose position is literally “future coach” that doesn’t rock the boat or compete with Love?

Or maybe Gute just isn't very bright? He's made great moves and terrible moves. At least this was just a 5th round pick.

This dude really held back PSU imo. If he’ll help off the field then good but he certainly wont help on it

I am only looking at a highlight reel here, but there has to be a lot of similarities between Taysom Hill and this guy.

Taysom Hill is exactly who I thought of too. Was very athletic and an older prospect but not an NFL QB caliber thrower.

So Tasom RAS, 9.6 ...6'2 225, ran a 4.46 40 and had Elite explosion grades. Good agility grades.

I am just saying, maybe.

Guessing there were people that really preferred Tanner McKee or Max Duggan instead? No idea how to feel about this dude but I guess I'm not really seeing much of a meaningful difference between the 12th and 16th rated QB prospects in this draft. We knew they needed to draft a backup. Could just be a Chase Daniel type as a best case scenario, and that'd be completely fine.
