Jones is consensus 145. Not gonna be surprised if he goes 100 picks higher (at least). He's being slept on.

I follow Florida State probably even more than the home-team Badgers ... Jones is the real deal. Would be thrilled if he wound up a Packer.

Jones or Bullard in that NB spot would be a nice upgrade over Keisean. Nothing against him but he's probably best used as a returner, with occasional defensive snaps and maybe even some end arounds on offense, but with his new deal, he'll probably get first dibs for a defensive starter.

I think e. Cooper is the right pick today. I know off ball linebacker and positional value. U don't use your first on that position. However its clear we have a need there and i think if we try to get cute and trade back he is taken soon after. With the lack talent at MLB this year I can see a team reaching for him before us. As far trading down i would rather try to move up to the late teens perhaps. Especially if they like a pass rusher or Tackle there. Newton would be a home run imo. You don't overthink whenyou see a penetrating dt with edge like production. Those guys are probably the hardest and most impactful players out there. Just so rare to have that game wrecking pressure despite usually taking two oline on.
Bucks fandom bringing me happiness still seems like a dream.

I think he looked okay on offense when he got a few snaps. Perhaps he can be an injury sub for the gadget aspect of Reed's role. I didn't like his defense, but he can at least make an occasional big play if he's in the right spot. Just seems like he's almost always half a step late in coverage, and I don't think he's a very reliable tackler.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

One of my favorite articles each year. He's not always spot on but he does a good job of looking at some guys that might get missed or get overrated and backing up reasons why.

I thought the comparison of this years potential crop compared to Jayden Reed's numbers vs how he was used at MSU vs how the Packers have used him added some useful context.

Yep. The way he discusses the adjustments he made was really interesting to read.

Another Day 3 guy I'd be interested in adding to the secondary. Might even be able to play a little linebacker at his size but he's still plenty fast to stay back at safety. Plays a physical brand of football which this defense could use more of. He's had plenty of snaps at free safety but I think he's more of a downhill, box safety that will be great defending the run.

I disagree about Corley. My first thought was another Reed which I wouldn't hate.

Carlson needs some competition.
Alternatively, if Whelan is to be re-signed, have Carlson, Whelan, and Orzek camp out all spring at Lambeau practicing kicks at various ranges and weather conditions.
Both ideas should help

Something to add to this, the Packers had different numbers for Reed during his pre-draft visit compared to what his public RAS shows. So his RAS might be way better than we think. The difference in his 40 makes me wonder if his other scores they tracked came out better too.
During the pre-draft process, the Packers clocked Reed running a 4.37-second 40-yard dash. With that speed, giving Reed a head start with open space and the ball in his hands can make him really difficult to bring down as his playmaking takes over.
Source.

I think Coleman and Worthy have gotten to the point where they've become underrated, TBH.

Dallas Turner
Amarius Mims
Brian Thomas Jr.
Cooper Dejean
Graham Barton
I wouldn't say I don't want those guys, but I think they're being overrated right now.

Re: 2024 NFL Draft - five picks in the first three rounds (seven in four! [probably])
Sick of seeing offensive tackles being mocked to GB in the first round. Their reasoning is always suspect, either they think we need a starter and ignore how well Walker and Toms graded out. Or they think we need another swing tackle backup, which using a 1st on a backup seems like such a waste. Especially for a team which is maybe the best in the league at finding offensive line talent in later rounds.
