I'd love either. My lasting impression of Newton came from his game against Wisconsin, and he was dominating that game over before he got ejected.

That and his gut hanging way out.

I'm not as high on Newton as others, but definitely for Murphy. If he's there in mocks at 25 I almost automatically take him.

I think my favorite options at this point are

1 - Mims - You don't usually get five star enormous upside OTs late in round one. Mims wouldn't be dissimilar than the LVN pick last season. Physical monsters lacking experience that can sit a season if need be.

2 - Murphy or Newton - Two undersized but dominant inside rushers. Would love either.

3 - Trade up - They've got the draft capital to get a premium player. I'd be hoping for Mitchell, Bowers, Arnold, Verse, or Latu. In that order.

4 - Trade out of the first - I'd see if Washington wants to move up to #25 in return for 40 and 67. Coming away with six picks between 40 and 91 would give them all the ammo they need to add depth everywhere.

5 - Stay at #25 and take one of Mims, Guyton, Dejean, Wiggins, Chop, or McKinstry. In that order.

I’m glad the Bucks are done til after the draft now. Gonna be a long 2 days. This draft feels like an absolute wild card still.

ESPN's only mention of GB in their draft notes today.

Multiple scouts say they are thinking late-Round 1 for Missouri defensive lineman Darius Robinson due to his flexibility as a 3-4 DE who can play inside. The Packers (No. 25), Ravens (No. 30) and 49ers (No. 31) are among potential fits.

Read on Twitter

#15 - Odunze
#17 - Terrion Arnold
#18 - Brock Bowers
#19 - Byron Murphy II
#20 - Amarius Mims
#22 - Quinyon Mitchell

Despite getting Dejean at #25, if something like that happens Thursday and the Packers aren't trading up, I will lose my **** mind.

There's not a ton they could do to leave me disappointed tomorrow but I've seen some reporting on Edgerrin Cooper or Junior Colson sneaking into the first round. If Gute pulls a Quay Walker 2.0 move and pivots to taking a LB at 25 I wouldn't feel great about that at all.

I think it would be a huge mistake, but I could definitely see Colson being Gute's course correction on Quay.

I'm also tired of spending late firsts on the non top tier corners. It might just be a me thing and I get CB is important but at this point I'm either trading up to take a difference maker otherwise I'd rather go elsewhere and wait until later for that position. If they end up taking someone like McKinstry or Wiggins I'll get it and hope they turn out to be good, I'd just go a different way if possible.

This is interesting because it's a new name that we're linked too. He doesn't really hit the Packers typical wants for a 1st round pick. He's older than all their 1st round picks under Gute except Wyatt, he'd have the lowest RAS score of any 1st round pick under Gute and he misses their typical thresholds they look for as well.

Robinson is a guy I really liked early on in the process but just kinda assumed we'd trade back if a defensive end was BPA at our pick. I think his "versatility" is a tad overrated. He looks and plays strictly like an Edge rusher to me. But I love the size/athletic profile and it reminds me of a bigger Justin Houston. He'd be the "I'm fine with this but not ecstatic" pick, similar to how I felt with Nicky Perry in 2012 and ironically, Kenny in 2016.

Yea, I don't think Mims or Guyton are making it to #25.

I think you're right. OT will be premium this year. Even seeing guys like Latham start to creep up towards the top 10.

If there's the expected run on QBs, WRS, and now OTs, doesn't that some of the top defenders more likely to be available?

Yea tbh if there is a run on OTs, QBs, & WRs, that likely pushes the CBs or one of the DL down to us which seems like a win

Let's say there's a maximum run on those positions and these guys go before #25

QB
Williams
Daniels
Maye
McCarthy
Nix
Penix

WR
Harrison Jr.
Nabers
Odunze
Thomas Jr.

TE:
Bowers

OT
Alt
Fuaga
Fautanu
Fashanu
Latham
Mims
Guyton

That's 18 guys, leaving six spots before Green Bay is on the board.

I think Turner, Arnold, and Mitchell are locks to go before #25.

That leaves guys like:

DeJean
Murphy
Newton
Latu
Verse
Wiggins

At least three would be available in this scenario. Would be cool.

I'd be cool adding a blue-chip defender if they start to fall.
