Damn. I thought that'd be a layup extra lotto ticket. Probably a great move for the kid, though. Terrible depth at the positions over in KC and it's top of the league good here.

Forgot all about him which also frequently happened when he was on the team. It's a strong race between him and Amari Rodgers for worst draft pick of Gute's GM tenure.

At least he was hurt 25% of the time instead of actively hurting the team. Drafting a small H-back with little athletic ability in the 3rd round was unconscionable the moment it happened, and never for a second looked any better that it did on draft day.

Dillon has to be a candidate as well. A lumbering power back with that kind of mileage in the 2nd-round in this day and age? Yikes. I don't even remember who I wanted, but trade down if there's nobody else you like. He would have been lucky to be drafted in the 4th round.

If your worst draft pick in 5-years was either a 3rd rounder (Sternberger deserves a mention too) or a 2nd round RB that still gave you two really solid seasons with 2,000+ total scrimmage yards, then I'd say you've done pretty well.

IIRC, most of the pre-draft prospect ratings put Dillon in the 4th to 5th round class. Had he been drafted there, se'd probably view hs pick as a real success

No argument here; I've been defending him for a while, and still consider not selling high on a disgruntled Rodgers earlier to be his only egregious error. The Love pick was a TBD situation for years, but that's been vindicated IMO. It's still an interesting exercise to pick out his draft errors and hope he learns from them though.

So glad Deguara is gone. I felt like we kept trying to prove he was worth his draft status when he wasn't

I think this draft has loads of guys just like him. Guys that can play ST, pass block and just be serviceable when they actually run/catch the ball.

Did someone fill those roles before, with similar responsibilities and accountability? Or are these roles expansion of previous positions?

Kind of sounds like expansion roles or maybe they are just labeling them different under the new Strength coach.

Friday night game. Boo. I guess it's good we don't have to go to Philly though.

Since it is week 1 I don't mind the Friday game. Gives then some rest before week 2. It is also nice to lose a road game and not a home game.
