Interesting. He's mostly sucked.

Quick search

::Carlson::
XP% - 87.2% (34/39)(2023 Season)
FG% - 81.8% (27/33)(2023 Season)

::Joseph::
XP% - 94.7% (36/38)(2023 Season)
FG% - 80.0% (24/30)(2023 Season)
XP% - 90.1% (146/162) (Career)
FG% - 82.6% (100/121) (Career)

Lot of those kicks were indoors - but decent sample size should give some context. He's about 1-2% better in both categories for his career, though XP% for 2023 was significantly higher..

I wonder who the other kicker was that they almost signed until he changed his mind. I guess Joseph was the best of what was left out there.

Randy Bullock is a FA. He's been marginally better.

Joseph sucks. Hopefully Carlson beats him out.

Yeah, reps might still help Carlson, whereas there's nothing really to hope for with Joseph - and he might actually regress with a lot more outdoor kicks.

Hopefully this works out the same way as when we brought in that Italian dude to compete with Crosby.

Carlson should have the upper leg (pun intended) but I think this move is more about lighting a fire under Anders and getting him to dial in than it is about replacing him. I'm leaning 70/30 Carlson unless Joseph just completely annihilates the ball in camp/pre-season.

At the risk of breaking the no politics rule, this seems like a great way to get yourself run out of office...

The lease doesn't expire for another decade. They've got plenty of time to figure things out, which they will.

Don't really know anything about rugby but was just watching Netflix's Six Nations rugby docu, included Rees Lightening. Had thought to myself that since if these guys are athletic freaks, big boys and wondered how transition to NFL would go.

Rugby guys are accustomed to being hit hard, but also to commonly lateral the ball at point of contact. Either that, or hang onto the ball if tackled, til it can be hopefully shoved towards your own teammate (more-or-less). Also, those guys have tremendous stamina at that level.

International and top level college rugby is fun as hell to watch.

Great video, go check it out.

Kid is definitely intriguing. Built like a god, can move really well, seems to have good hands. Only 22.

Whelan was a big rugby guy too. I think those two know each other even.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/sports/packers-begin-lambeau-field-lease-100145954.html

So I'm trying to wrap my head around this. The lease doesn't expire for nine years but the packers have additional options until like 2043. Also, the lease fee is totally immaterial (Talking $1-2m a year when compared to possibly investing $1 billion).

Seems like the city wants:
1. Investment in GREEN BAY (Titletown is on the opposite side of city limits?)
2. More events - Packers are kind of stingy about protecting the field where I'm sure the city wants 100 events a year to bring in more revenue?
3. Packers want to slightly reduce lease fee since they are taking over maintenance and operating costs. I think the city is getting a decent deal considering the Packers pay for so much of the stadium and are taking over operating costs, but it seems weird the Packers are being cheap on this when the difference is like NPV <$1/2m a year? ("under the Packers' proposal, the city said it would receive $45 million through 2062, compared with $81.3 million under terms of the existing lease."

Seems like a non-story overall with only Murphy wanting to cement his packers legacy by finalizing the lease and the Mayor playing hard ball forcing the Packers to give a little more to the city?
