I stand by that moving a 24 year old RT who was top 10 in the NFL at his position last year is a bad idea. If you want a better center just go draft JPJ or Barton.

Moving Tom would be horrendously stupid. I still don't believe it happens.

I think they're just going to play the hand they're dealt in the draft and put their 5 best OL's on the field any way they can. I see no reason we should have our minds made up about what that's going to look like before the team has even had a chance to fill out their roster, let alone have a look at everyone in camp. If they draft a clear OT, I think they're more likely to move Tom to one of the weaker IOL spots than bench Walker, who was clearly superior to Myers and Rhyan last year. If they draft a more versatile OL like Barton, then I think Tom probably stays put. And there are many more possible variations on this basic premise, obviously.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

The only way I see Tom being moved is if they draft someone who performs better at RT than Tom, which seems extremely unlikely given that Tom is unarguably a top 5 RT. IOL are just much easier to find and develop than tackles.

Also, if you had to pick a spot to be weaker, you are picking IOL as well.

If we are drafting OL I think it's more likely we take a guy like Barton, an IOL who potentially has OT versatility, than it is taking an OT we are going to try and upgrade Tom with. Hell, I think even if they did take a tackle they would look to start him at LT and use Walker as the swing tackle anyway.

Any chance of seeing Jenkins as starting LT? IIRC his contract has lot of incentives related to this.

There's more upside to replacing Tom with a mountain of an athlete at RT like Mims or Guyton than there is in keeping Tom at RT and drafting a lesser IOL to replace Myers.

Yeah, this is the likely scenario if the opportunity to draft Mims at 25 presents itself. They're not moving Tom away from RT for just anybody, but if his versatility allows you the ability to put your 5 best guys out there, you do it.
