It's official. Packers vs Eagles week 1 in Brazil on Friday night on Peacock
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

From what I'm hearing the Packers absolutely did not want to go to Brazil. The NFL essentially forced them to do it.

So who does this count as a home game for Philly or GB?

That’s good news atleast, I would hate to lose a game at Lambeau for this.

Stupid but whatever. Like others have said, at least we don't lose a home game. 1,000th reminder to Goodell that nobody gives a **** about American football in Brazil though. So sure, let's start turning meaningful regular season games into dumbass experiments/showcases for like, the 8th most popular sport in the country behind Ju-jitzu and beach volley-ball.

I can believe that, but that also makes Murphy's NFL Corporate "happy talk" eye-rolling silly

The thing that worries me is the condition of the field. I know the NFL will spend a lot of time down there. IIt's used extensively for soccer with the last game before ours scheduled for August 24. t's small (about 47,000). Maybe they can expand it.

Green Bay and Milwaukee get it on a local channel (NBC in this case). Same as it's been for ESPN and Amazon games. Rest of the state needs Peacock.

Brazil is the 3rd biggest NFL market in the World, only behind US and Mexico. The popularity there is increasing a lot.

As for being the 8th most popular sport, probably these numbers are related to sports that people play, which is super hard to play football in Brazil (although there is a professional league with 26 teams), but in terms of TV, it's way ahead of beach volleyball, for example.

It's sad that I am not living in Brazil anymore, otherwise I would go to this game for sure.

I am ok with a international game in week 1. Allows us to reset and get the headache out of the way for the whole season. Imagine going down there in like week 10.
