Only gripe about MLF's gameplan is that he fell way too in love with the Reed jet-sweep. Other than that, give me a break with any and all criticism that doesn't fall solely on the special teams and defense. Offense went down and did exactly what you wanted them to do and took the lead with less than 2-minutes left. We all know Joe Barry needs to go, but what in the actual **** are we paying Rich Bisaccia to do exactly? Highest paid ST coordinator in the league and this is the result? How are they still this bad?

How many of DeVito's recent sacks were on blitzes? Isn't that what you are supposed to do to bad QBs? Pressure them? How many times did we blitz last night?

This. offense is super young and will have ups and downs. I think MLF gets a little too cute at times with his play calling and should just let jordan love loose.

defense is full of vets and high picks and continues to suck. they kept all out blitzing with no contain and kept getting burned. then the giants adjusted and ran the read option keeper.

special teams is just crap.

Blame power rankings for last night:

1 - Love. Just looked bad all over the place. Had the turnover.
2 - Defense. Couldn't sack Devito despite generating consistent pressure. Let him run all over the field.
3 - Special teams. Jesus christ.

All three were garbage tonight.

Yeah, Love was bad. He set the tone with awful throws on the first two drives that killed both of them.

It's pretty obvious special teams coaching is overrated. Bisaccia is considered one of the "best" ST coaches and our ST suck. You can't coach players not to be stupid. Nixon was stupid. Blocks in the back on returns are stupid. The players are coached on what to do on ST they just can't do it. Year after year after year. Bisaccia had a lot of input on which reserves were kept for ST. And they still suck.

So what's the answer? Get yet another ST coach? Doesn't make a difference. Get different players on ST? We've done that.

Still, if Love doesn't get sacked in that play, Carlson would make the FG, IMO.

I think I’ve officially resigned myself to the fact that Packers special teams is cursed for eternity for letting Desmond Howard walk after one of the best special teams seasons ever in 96. It doesn’t matter who plays or coaches special teams they will always be horrible.

Nixon was fun as hell last year, but it's clearly gone to his head. I'd still give him one more year at the right price to see if he can find the happy medium, but holy hell how does he even breathe with his head so far up his butt?

The wind was a huge factor in the throws. You can tell it's windy af when a throw that starts out as a spiral is already a wounded duck halfway to the receiver. Throws and kicks were hooking and slicing all over the place, but no adjustments were made and I think it's Love's fault. He has some extreme deep-happy tendencies that have hurt him even in perfect conditions, so to continue trying to throw deep in that wind was unforgivably dumb, as was cutting inside on the play that led to the fumble.

Defense, not good obviously, but given the injuries and the excellence of Barkley, the only truly infuriating part was failing to pressure the passer. It looked like they had never seen film of him running. Has he never run in a game before? Multiple times they should have sacked him, but they took bad angles he zoomed right past them without even being touched. It truly looked like they had no idea he was relatively mobile. Did they accidentally watch film of Daniel Jones?

Special teams rankings under MLF:
2019 - 26
2020 - 29
2021 - 32
2022 - 22
2023 - headed for 32

Multiple coordinators, no real change. Playoff loss because of special teams, no real change. Highest paid ST coordinator, brief small change.

Is it not important enough to MLF?

In MLF’s defense we were terrible under Fat Mac too.

In the damning with faint praise department: who of the Packers had a decent game last night?

Myers? (One of his most consistently good games IMO)
Kraft?
Dillon?(I know that his rushing was meh, but the one catch-and-run was good)
Reed? (the repeated jet sweeps were as much blocking problems as anything)
Anybody on Defense? (I'm not being snarky - I just didn't see any individual standouts)

Can't wait to fire Barry and Bisaccia's replacements two/three years from now.

I honestly don't see any change of the top brass till Murphy retires in 2025, UNLESS he steps to a figurehead role and lets his replacement make the real decisions. Unlikely, but it could happen - Murphy's not one for rocking the boat

When you ask is it important enough for MLF, what is the solution? He's changed ST coaches, brought in the best one and and made him the highest paid ST coach in the league. We've changed players. As you said, bad ST pre-dates MLF. So what's the next move?

Looking at the week 14 EPA/CPOE composite scores. Tommy DeVito had the best week of any QB in the NFL, that's freaking absurd.
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Everyone talks about the importance of ST when it comes to players on the fringes. The only conclusion I can draw is the front office doesn't actually prioritize ST skills when it comes to player acquisition.

Specials Teams would improve if they literally just told everyone to not commit a penalty. Even if it meant fair catching every single punt because you couldn't block the gunners.

Did we get any sort of reason for why Reed was benched in favor of Nixon on that punt return? What is that if not a very obvious blunder directly attributable to a questionable coaching decision?
