Rough game, glad I didn't see all of it. I saw Love ignore some obvious, easy check-downs, including a 3rd-and-manageable. He's prone to deep-ball tunnel vision; hope he grows out of that.

Jones looked really spry to me. I think rumors of his decline are misguided - they've always limited his touches to keep him fresh for the playoffs, even when they've needed more touches from him to even make the damn playoffs ( ), and I think he's aging really well despite the bad injury luck. It started in week 1, but weren't lots of Packers cramping up or coming up lame in that game because of the hot, sunny sideline on their side of the field? And he achieved one of the highest top speeds of anyone in all of football in week 1 on that very run. I hope he's back next year. Absolutely love the guy.

Defense, what more can you say. How many of the secondary guys even belong in an NFL depth chart, let alone playing that many snaps?
Valentine - solid backup, maybe future serviceable starter
Stokes - hard to give up on a guy who was so good as a rookie, but he has been a disaster on the field since then
Ballentine - practice squad, maybe last DB on roster?
Ford - special teamer, weak backup
Owens - serviceable backup
Savage - okay in the right system, disappointing but still better than the alternatives as his absence showed yesterday
Nixon - returner only IF he stops being an idiot there, maybe some slot WR cameos, emergency-only nickel back

And Devondre has been dead weight since his great "I wanna get paid" first year with the Packers. I'm sick of announcers never calling him out. They hardly ever even acknowledge his decline.

Is there a fire joe barry.com ? He needs to be gone today. Would have been nice earlier but he has lost the team.

Honestly don't know how you don't fire a guy after that abomination, and I'm someone who 99% of the time views an in-season firing as pointless and more driven by spite than any rational thought process. There's really nothing more to say. Barry should have been gone months ago and you can't properly evaluate the defensive personnel until he's gone (......ok, we at least can probably say that the entire secondary minus Jaire and Valentine needs to be burned to the ground).

Injuries have been used as an excuse this year, but he mailed it in last year too. He's been a joke since getting paid. Quay is a hothead, but at least he gives great effort. To say Campbell has been half-assed would be too generous.

Not sure he's mailing it in or if the one good year was a fluke outlier and what we're seeing now is why he was unemployed when the Packers signed him.

No way to know for sure, but IMO you can't fluke your way to what he did in his first year with the team. He was outstanding. It wasn't like a random CB being in the right place at the right time and getting 5-6 lucky interceptions. He has some talent and pedigree and was an underachiever before joining GB. I think he just realized how close he was to losing his career and mustered enough work ethic to earn one big payday while he still could. Those lowlights sure look like lack of effort to me, and he's been invisible most of the year, whether healthy or not.

His cap hit next year is $14.4 million, his dead cap is $11.6 million, we'd save $2.8 million by getting rid of him. In 2025 though his $12.5 million and his dead cap is $7.9 million, we'd save about $4.6 million.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Yeah hard to say without being in that building and knowing his approach. He sure doesn't seem to be flying around the field like he was that good year. Maybe injuries taking a half step, maybe getting paid has lessened his appetite for the violence needed at that position.

I'm against paying or drafting MLBs high because it's a position like RB where these guys take a hell of a beating and once they lose a step or that edge their play goes downhill quickly. Short shelf life roles where you need to just find passable starters in the middle rounds and replace them when they are up for a second contract.

Like has there even been a difference when a JAG like McDuffie has played instead of Walker or Campbell?

1 good season in 8 years is the definition of fluke. And now he's 30. He needs to be benched ASAP. McDuffie is better

If the Barry firing hasn't happened by now, I doubt it's happening.

I mean, there's really no reason to do it at this point. There isn't a candidate to replace him currently on the staff. Might as well just let the season play out and can him on Black Monday.

The risk is defense looks good against Young and Fields and MLF decides again we are making progress and improving like last year.

For years I have always joked that there are two jobs that you can be really bad at and never have to worry about being fired.

Weatherman.

Coaching position for the Green Bay Packers.

Joe Barry still being currently employed by the Green Bay Packers 24 hours after what happened yesterday, takes that comment to all-time heights....lol.

Eh, I think missing the playoffs again and the breakdowns that have happened are finally the nail the in coffin. I don't think he survives, if only out of self preservation from Gute and MLF. Someone has to take the fall.

True another year of missing the playoffs and MLF seat is going to start getting warm so he will need a fall guy. I’d still prefer just to do it now knowing it won’t help this season just to eliminate the risk that Barry is back for 24 all together as if we do get in at 9-8 who knows what happens.

There's a very real chance they still win the next 3 games and make the POs. They need to fire him now otherwise there's a very real chance the change doesn't get made if that happens
