Not a fan of Fields, but that return has to depress the heck out of Bears fans.

Trading a lot for Fields just never made any logical sense.

Didn’t stop all my Chicago friends from assuming they’d get a huge haul.

The league really didn't value Fields at all, huh.

So what are we thinking... a third for Caleb Williams in about 3 years? :)

The other shoe to drop... What leverage does Williams Inc have now with the Bears? Are they tightening up the vise grips on Ryan Poles testicles, or no?

Some Bears fans really thought they'd get a 1st or a 2nd and future picks for him.

If they are delusional. Fields is terrible and has almost no chance of actually becoming a playable NFL QB.

Fields backing up Wilson is fine or Pitt. His 5th year option is over $25 million, they won’t pick that up.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Still surprised the Bears stuck with Eberflus to help usher in Caleb. I know Waldron is supposed to be a good offensive mind, but Getsy was looked at the same way until he got to call the plays (granted Waldron has limited play call experience). I can't help but think Caleb will be on his second HC by his sophomore year.

If Fields would embrace a Taysom Hill role I actually think he'd be a pretty useful player.

I like Tomlin, like Russ, and like Fields. I hope Pittsburgh succeeds this year

I thought there was a team out there who'd give them a bigger haul for Fields, perhaps motivated by some of the flashes he showed down the stretch. And by bigger haul, I thought a conditional second (conditions being pro bowl level play). A team desperate for a QB but not in a position to draft one of the top ones in this draft.

But that return is pretty funny and is a nice lotto ticket for Pittsburgh.

We won't talk to you. We'll just wait for you to say something really stupid like you did all last year.

Any chance Pitt puts both Wilson and Fields on the playing field at the same time?

I like Fields, and still feel he can be a top 15 QB in the right system.

However, back in Jan/Feb Bears fans I work with were all saying "we can get a 1st for him" and I said maybe a 2nd at best if you trade him right now.

Then the legal tampering date came, other teams already figured out their QB spots. Bears fans "we can get a 2nd for him" and I said maybe a 3rd at best if you trade him right now.

I was told it was Poles playing poker and trying to call everyone's bluff. Well it did not help at all and I love it. Now we just need Caleb to suck for a few years until the Bears give up on him.

The Bears were NEVER gonna get even a day 2 pick for Fields. Them waiting isn't the reason for a 6th round return. He's a bad QB that has one year left on his contract and giving up a round 2 or 3 pick also signals you would need to extend him.

No team not ran by idiots would give up a legit asset to extend a player that's shown as little as him.

Had the Bears not waited they "might" of gotten a 5th out of a team like Atlanta for them just to take a look but that's about it
