I think some teams will try this.

Any clarity on what this means for onsides? Not finding great information. Sounds like maybe they'll only be allowed if trailing and in the 4th quarter, but I also saw this:

The XFL allowed teams to attempt a fourth-and-15 play from their own 25-yard line in lieu of an onside kick, so the NFL is adapting this part of the rule to better suit its game.

Looking at videos of XFL kickoff returns, does make me feel better about Nixon returning to 2022 form. Also, expect Jayden Reed to take a huge step, but could be magic if he get a token return every few games.
You gotta make it sexy! Hips and nips, otherwise I'm not eating.

What I saw was that you have to request an onside kick, and then all old rules apply. There are no more surprise onsides, but no other restriction on when they can be done.

It's all...weird. Will see how it goes before I judge, but I've been in favor of just getting rid of kickoffs (with same onside request rule). They so rarely matter anymore.

2 Xmas games this year on a Wednesday. Ridiculous.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I love football but I'm sick of the oversaturation. But gambling will keep ratings good no matter the schedule.

18-game season and games on 4 out of the 7 days of the week. You know it's coming and the product will get even more unwatchable.

Reddick is a free agent in next year so the Jets could get a comp pick in 2026 if he signs with another team.

Jets have a narrow window for contention, depending on Rogers health. Boom or bust

Almost any other QB but Rodgers, and there would be a distinct possibility that they are thinking about the long term and go QB at 10. But they aren't going to take one and have him be disgruntled all season.

No one learned from Ruggs, he’ll probably get a slap on the wrist though and no jail time since no one was killed.

I don't usually believe anything I read sports related today, but I will guess nobody was dumb enough to fake Vontae Davis' death today at age 35. Unreal

Very sad - had a ton of talent. I remember him retiring in the middle of a game 4-5 years ago.

When he retired at halftime, I remember a lot of folks were ragging on him for abandoning his team mid-game. Seeing the news today, it makes me wonder how much pain he must have been in - physically, mentally, otherwise - to do something like that. RIP.

Really feel for Vernon Davis, basically lost both of his brothers.

Pat McAfee and Darius Butler had a nice tribute on their show yesterday when the news broke nationwide.

Interesting move by Buffalo. I do like the vet WR in the room for Houston - should pair well with Dell, Collins.
