Cubs VS Brewers 4/8/07 Game Thread (Game 6 of 162)

Post#1 » by Flames24Rulz » Sat Apr 7, 2007 8:03 pm

Two wins in a row over the Brewers and we're going for our first series sweep of the 2007 season. Zambrano added the Cubs fourth straight quality start in a row, going 7 strong while allowing 3 runs. Offense had another solid game for the second day in a row as we put up six. Ramirez hit his first homer of the year and Lee got his first RBI of the year. Onto tomorrow's game.

Pitching matchup:

Image

Wade Miller: (2006 Numbers) 0-2, 4.57 ERA, 21.2 IP, 20 Ks/18 BBs

Image

Chris Capuano: 0-0, 5.40 ERA, 5 IP, 6 Ks/2 BBs

Time for Miller to get quality start #5 in a row for the Cubs. Capuano has been a gigantic Cubs killer throughout his career, so Miller is going to have to be on his game tomorrow. I think Capuano didn't lose at all against us last year and had an ERA of around 2.50 or so.

As for our lineup, Kasper said that Cedeno would more than likely get the start at SS tomorrow because of the lefty pitching. Izturis hasn't had a day off yet, so it would make sense. Barrett will also be back in the lineup. Should be an interesting game.

Gametime is at 1:05 CST and it will be televised on CSN :(

I'm hoping to see Floyd in the lineup tomorrow.

Izzy needs to move out of the 2 spot as well.. DeRosa might be a possibility but I'd like to see:

Soriano
Murton
DLee
ARam
Floyd
Barrett
DeRosa
Izturis
Miller

It's doubtful to see Floyd in the lineup against a lefty. In fact Murton is a career .329 hitter against lefties while Floyd is batting .273 for his career and .179 last year against lefties. Hopefully Miller can put in a nice outing as Capuano seems to have done well against us in the past.

Very good insight Mustangs :)
We need to give Floyd a couple of days off this year because he has signs of wearing down. Just 2 years ago he had a great year with the Mets. Last year I think he got hurt.

Miller is a complete wildcard, but hopefully our offense keeps us alive and then the bullpen can take care of business. I think Soriano is due for a big game and hopefully this one is it.

Jones is on the bench. See another difference between Lou and Dusty.

And now a double.
This should be Miller's last outing of the year.
