he new or promoted linemen haven't stood out...The '06 roster spots of Houston's Jeff Zgonina (one tackle), the Jets' David Bowens (five tackles) and unemployed Dan Wilkinson have been taken by Chase Page (four tackles), Paul Soliai (one tackle/two games) and Steve Fifita (no tackles/one game).

''Soliai had some troubles'' against the Jets, Bokamper noted, and Page is a ''marginal roster guy,'' Williamson said. (As is Fifita). Miami got 8

It's incredible that Okoye is off to such a good start at only 20 years old. That's staggering.

And yeah, I'm curious to see exactly what we have in the two Wright Bros: Rodrique and Abraham. A lot of the spinsters led us to believe that Rod, a 7th rounder, would've been a first round draft pick if he weren't hurt. So if he's ready to go now, let's throw him out there. He's a giant. Maybe he could be someone that can take up a lot of space and cause a lot of disruption up front. And if Zach's gonna miss another game, let's try a line-up of Porter, Crowder, and then Abe Wright. We already know what we have in Donnie Spragan (a steady but otherwise unspectacular LB), so let's see if Abe can play. He's just a little guy, but maybe his speed and agility can be of some use to us.

I don't follow college football much, is there anyone expected to be in the draft next year at the DT or LB positions that's a tentative top-10/top-5 caliber guy? That'd be nice. Or maybe a run-blocking mauler of a RT (ala Brown in this year's draft)

Ooh, Scouts Inc has their top seniors up, in the top-10 they have 3 OTs and 2 DTs. That's nice. A few LBs in the teens as well.

Kinda sad that I'm already thinking about next year...

mmm...they say Dorsey and Ellis are both better-suited as 1-gap DTs, guys who can get into the backfield and make a play, rather than a 2-gap DT who can take up space and occupy blockers. I dunno if fits our scheme per se.

I think I could get excited about a Jake Long selection.
