Odrick

we took a 3-4 defensive end. No clue why with Hughes and Kindle sitting out there

Oh I love the Odrick pick much more than the idea of Dan Williams or Kindle. Kindle is so raw and has no football IQ. Fins get a linebacker/DE university (PSU) football player. I love the pick and couldn't be happier thus far. Parcells probably figures Odrick to become a defensive End for us. I'm a die hard PSU fan so maybe i'm being a little biased here but I do like the pick a lot. We got back into the second round as well which is something we really needed to do.
With the 40th pick we should walk away with one of these players Taylor Mays, Arreolious Benn, Kindle (I think he'll be there), Golden Tate, Brandon Spikes, Navarro Bowman, Aaron Hernandez, Toby Gerhart, Brandon Lafell, or Carlos Dunlap.

I dont hate the pick. Dude can definately play. Productive starter

I just dont know why we are picking 4/3 players when we are running a 3-4 and have huge holes that make up the backbone of that defense

that pass rushing olb. That big nose tackle, and that coverage ballhawk safety

If we were running a 4-3, this pick would make a whole lot more sense for me. And Taylor Mays in the second would make more sense as well. He cant play safety in a 3-4

I cant say i hate the pick... but i was disappointed they didnt select Jerry Hughes. As soon as they traded back i got my hopes up that he was gonna be their pick. He reminds me of Patrik Willis in everyway that i thought theyd nab him.

Solid pick. Solid guy on the field. He was graded high as a rare prospect. He has size and a motor. Like a bigger Matt Roth.. you cant teach size and this kid can go up or down in weight. You will love this kid in 2 years or less. The #1 Parcells quality this guy has is that he loves to play the game.

Carlos Dunlap is still on the board???? We need to get this guy. Will make you say Jason who? He is huge like a Javon Kearse freakish physical gifts.

Cody is still on the board.

So many tasty choices left. id pass on Kindle
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

Yeah I like our shot in the second round at getting another instant starter on defense.

Two things could happen here:

Either the Dolphins are going to try to move Merling to OLB like they did with Matt Roth -he has the proto-type size at 6'4 270 and athleticism- to give him more room to rush the passer or Merling could just be traded.

Odrick is a solid pick IMO. He can play DE in our 3-4 system today and has the size to bulk up some (another 10 lbs of muscle) and develop into a NT in a couple of years (6'5 305). He definitely has the motor to draw blockers. Add some power and strength to that and I could see a Ferguson-type (6'3 310) of NT (and Jay Ratliff 6'4 305). Looks like the Trifecta likes their NT to be quicker, lighter (not heavy like Soliai 6'4 355) and powerful.

I see some flexibility here. Like someone said, Parcells knows more about football than we do.

As for today, I expect them to draft Jason Worilds (OLB) with their 2nd rounder and a FS like Major Wright with our 3rd rounder.

Yeah I expect the Trinity to go after one of the following in Rd 2 [in order in which i think we should go]

Brandon Spikes
Taylor Mays
Sergio Kindle
Daryle Washington
Nate Allen

In Rd 3 i expect them to target

Ricky Sapp [would be my pick if we go S in 2nd]
Myron Rolle [this would be my pick in 3rd if we go LB in second]
Major Wright
Jordan Shipley
Jason Worilds

Either way i expect a OLB/DE hybrid and Safety to be picked in these two rounds.

I'm hoping for Sergio Kindle/Nate Allen or Mount Cody @ 40.

Here is some info on him.....
Height & Weight: 6'3 - 244 lbs.
Ranked #77 on our Top 100 Prospects Board
NFL Combine Results
40-Yard Dash 4.69
Vertical jump 38.0

Not bad combine numbers for a guy his size.
Is a good athlete who will give you a consistent effort every time he takes the field. Versatile. Has played both end and outside linebacker. Has deceptive speed (4.64) and range. Has the burst to make plays all over the field. Shows good instincts as a down lineman. Reads the play well and will slide to avoid would be blockers.

Sounds like a Parcells Trifecta type of player. Trust in the Trifecta people.
