a crossroads at qb

Post#1 » by hermes » Mon Sep 30, 2013 4:02 am

so the long called for change finally happened and cassel played well - wasn't perfect but didn't cost us the game or put us in a terrible position

i've heard (not sure how official this is) that once ponder is healthy he will become the starter again - although we don't know when that will be, or how serious his rib injury is

the question is: did cassel do enough in this game to warrant him being the starter for longer than just until ponder gets healthy?

the team certainly looked and played a lot differently (on offense) with him in there. there were a lot of throws that he made that i am dead certain ponder couldn't (at times it seemed he made it a point to throw absolute bullets just to show off that he has a fastball when ponder basically has a curveball)

After 1 game it looks like Cassel is better than Ponder. Ponder isn't the long term solution at QB, so we should be playing whoever the better player is.
