QB Prospect Thread

Post#1 » by Twolf16 » Mon Oct 28, 2013 8:58 pm

I think it's safe to say the vikings will be drafting a quarterback soon. As of now, Bridgewater is my #1 guy, but I don't think we will have the first pick in the draft. My second is Manziel as of now. He has been fairly successful against te top ranked teams in the nation, and has shown improvement from last year. He kinda has a Tebow factor... But I would still take my chances on a 3 star recruit who won the Heisman his freshman year.

lets make a list of the top guys and we can order them and update it throughout the rest of the year - something to do anyway

so we got:
bridgewater
manziel
mariota

anyone else we want to add?

Hundley from UCLA and Mettenberger from LSU are two to keep an eye on. Also McCarron and Murray.

Derek Carr from Fresno is also intriguing. So many quarterback prospects this year.

Taj Boyd is also supposed to go in the 1st round, but no one seems to like him.

McCarron, Murray and Carr are probably 2nd and 3rd round prospects, but I think we should consider taking two QB's like the Redskins did with Griffin and Cousins. It never hurts to have a backup plan.
We could also be in position to take a QB in the 2nd round if we're picking 3rd and Clowney is still available.

That's what I was thinking, 2 QB's for sure. Maybe QB in the first then cornerback in the second, third, and fourth. Qb in fifth then linebackers in the 6th and 7th haha. I'm joking, but cornerback is a serious need.

is there a guy named winston who's really good?

was watching a college game saturday and the announcers were saying he's the most nfl ready qb right now and would probably be the #1 pick today, i hadn't heard of him and have forgotten his first name

don't know if they didn't know what they were talking about or not since i hadn't heard of him (and you'd figure he'd be a big name if was top pick material)

Jameis Winston of Florida State. He is really good, but he won't be draft eligible until 2015. Kiper said he'd be the top pick if he came out this year.

I like Mariotal, Hundley, and Mettenberger. Everybody says Bridgewater is the truth so I guess I have to like him, but I'm more comfortable with the long term outlook ofthose other 3.

I haven't seen Mariota or Hundley, but I like both Mettenberger and Bridgewater. Bridgewater is more mobile and seems to have been given more control of his offense, but Mettenberger definitely makes NFL caliber throws. Of course I'm pretty bad at projecting quarterbacks, so what do I know.

Seems like we don't need to take a Qb in the first round but we probably should. Spielman needs to contact Gruden and see what qb we should take!

I'd like us to get Carr over Hundley actually. I think he'll be able to contribute quicker and I trust him more.

Agreed, Carr looks good and Bryce Brotles is another guy to watch. Some predict him as top 20 pick first round.

Blake Brotles* I believe but mind as well just draft Mcarron third round. He reminds me of Tom Brady. Let's just draft a pocket quarterback, that would probably be fire the best.

McCarron in the third round is OK, but it's hard to know how good he is because he played with so much talent. I'd also be OK with Mettenberger in the 2nd if we don't take a QB in the first.

I don't know if it would be a good pick, but I would be excited if we picked Manziel.
