packers, saints, and seattle are the potential wildcard opponents (all on the road)

not sure who i'd want. prior to last monday everyone would have said the packers but now i'm not so sure. would not look forward to going back to seattle and the saints are probably the best of the group

probably a good idea, keep people healthy and give others time to get healthier. plus its the dang bears and we probably shouldn't subject cousins to more of mack than necessary

As if they would have won either way. To pull your starters to act like you have some modicum of control over these results... Probably a good idea.

Score is 20-10. Got a friendly call on that Cook score.

The pass to run ratio is right in their good zone. Just slightly more run attempts than pass attempts. 25 to 22.

However, this is still the conservative offense. Diggs and Thielen aren't sharing the field much. One or the other keeps being taken off the field. Which is odd, because when Theilen is off field, Digg's sure isn't getting any targets. Have to wonder if the loud mouth is in Cousins ear too much lately or what. There is only one receiver and a back or TE dump off on many of those plays. So I suppose double coverage can happen. Screen tastic Chilly/Zimmer ball for sure. Getting past that early fumble was hopefully enough to break the ice.

Have to give it to the defense for holding back Saints this long. See if it holds for the 4th.

Well, Zimmer screwed that fourth quarter up of course, sitting on a 20-10 lead. 20 pts isn't enough in the playoffs Zimmster.

Up until the fourth quarter they had a nice mix of runs to pass at 25-22 even if it was conservative offense. But Zimmer just had to sit on it even tighter. 3 Whole Passes in the 4th quarter, and 11 runs. There goes that nice mix moron.

Best get after it in overtime or this will be yet another season of backing into the playoffs and looking like fools. Unleash that QB and receivers of yours.

4 runs, 6 passes in overtime. Now that's better. Same with choosing Rudolph in the endzone instead of like earlier in the game choosing Conklin. At least they showed they wanted this in overtime.

I would have play actioned that first and goal in OT, but it doesn’t matter, got it done on 3rd down. I didn’t expect a win so I’m happy.

First and goal at the 2, you gotta be able to pound that sh*t in there. But I guess with our line, it's always an adventure. In the same boat in terms of expectations, though, so no complaining. I figured they were going to carve us up with ease given our injuries, but the defense was just stellar. Hill was the only guy who really hurt us. Otherwise, Brees did nothing, Thomas did nothing, Kamara did nothing ... that's extremely hard to do, especially at their place.

yeah in hindsight it was really strange how un-impactful the saints offense was outside of taysom freaking hill

the d-line was really on it but the rest of the defense didn't appear to be playing great but i guess they were - or really solid at least

We struggled to get it in the last TD. I thought we were getting predictable and NO stuffing the run in the 2nd half. Of course if something goes wrong, everyone wonders what the hell you were doing (I.e. Seattle in the Super Bowl against New England).

No question. We were trying to kill the clock and they knew it. I'm just talking about having that capability to blow the other team off the line and get 2 hard yards when you absolutely have to have them. I wish we were that team, but I can't say it surprised me that we got overrun instead of the other way around. Oh well -- I had zero expectation of winning that game, so I'll take it.

If this defensive line can show up again like they did last week, we definitely have a great chance of winning. This D just shut down Brees, Thomas and Kamara in the Superdome. Garoppolo is making his playoff debut and doesn't have the same kind of weapons the Saints offense had. I know the 9ers have had a top tier offense this year, but lets see if they can bring that in the playoffs. Their defense is definitely top notch, but I feel like our D can keep us in this game for sure.

the key will be stopping the run and then getting after garoppolo. if we can get that same pressure as the saints game then we have a really good chance. hopefully kendricks can stay with kittle and their fullback - they do a lot of stuff with those guys

and keeping cousins upright will be big as well, hopefully we can get dalvin cooking and everything will flow from that
