I kind of think if the Vikings are going to be good, they have to win this first game. The Bengals have some young talent, but Burrow is still pretty inexperienced and coming off a significant injury.

well that was rough, way too many penalties. really sluggish start. nice to fight back from down two scores to tie it - and were driving for the win in overtime

but couldn't get it done

If you want to positive, you could say we had a lot of self inflicted mistakes and still almost won, but I thought Cincinnati got super conservative at times which helped us out. It feels like the type of game you need to win if you want to be good.
At least Green Bay is getting crushed.

yeah the bengals did pack it in at times, after a burrow sack. i wonder if he got banged up or they were aiming to prevent getting banged up in a multi score game.

cleaning up mistakes is a must to get on the winning track, also stopping the run

Tied for first place! I don't know what to expect, but everyone in our division looked pretty awful this week.

The only hope to the season is if the NFC North has turned into the NFC East and around a .500 record is good enough to win the division. Only reason that became a game was because Cincy panicked after the Burrow sack and packed it in on the offensive side after that.

Sadly the next 3 weeks look extremely rough. An 0-4 start looks pretty likely.

Holding call, Dalvin trips over his own feet, then Kirk throws an incomplete 4 yard pass on 3rd and 7. What are we doing?

I’m not sure why we’re so anxious to use our timeouts. We have the time.

we looked good. offense was great in the first half, lackluster for most of the second but they moved down the field when they needed to. defense let too much go but the cardinals seem pretty loaded on offense - and even the defense got the stop when they needed to (hunter had a phenomenal game)

its a bummer they didn't want to try one play into the endzone before the kick, instead of just letting time rundown

hindsight and all, there is risk in a turnover if you do that but take at least one chance at avoiding a kick right?

I don't even know if I would have gone to the end zone, but I probably would have tried to get it closer. Of course just last week, we fumbled while trying to set up a game winning field goal. Not much you can do if bad luck is just going to chase you down.

Zimmer should be ashamed of this defense.
