2023 regular season

Post#1 » by hermes » Fri Sep 8, 2023 3:46 pm

who knows how this will play out

probably expect a lot of high scoring games with our (should be) great passing offense and (probably) still bad defense

Addison with the shades of Randy Moss’s first game.

The Patriots made it a pretty close game against the Eagles after a slow start, so I have some hope the Eagles aren't going to be as good as last year. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see us have our butts kicked.

The turnovers are just brutal.

The offensive line and the defense are bad. The passing offense could be a juggernaut but it's being undermined by turnovers.

prior to the season, i didn't think much about our running game despite dalvin being gone (and the team doing nothing really to address it), but our complete inability to run the ball is going to be a real problem

what is that six fumbles in two games? i feel like you have to try to fumble it that much

are they greasing the ball?

maybe we're stealth tanking for kirk's replacement. gutting the running game so we're one dimensional, and not doing much of anything to improve the defense (outside of the new coordinator) so it's still pretty bad

Everybody else in the division lost this week too, so at least we have that going for us.

wow, thought something was finally going to break for us when the chargers went for it from their own 24. but this season's theme seems to be snatching defeat from the jaws of victory

hopefully jj is ok
good to see some life from the running game
kirk seemed off on accuracy today
turnovers are probably going to kill us all year
are we stealth tanking by having dreadful luck?

Yikes. 0-3 is really not good.

I hope Kwesi is gone after this year. What a horrific start to his stint as GM. Lets look at what we're getting from the 2022 draft.

1. Cine is safety #5 and cant see the field. (doesnt help we had Hamilton sitting there and we traded down and the dude just had a 3 sack game after having a great rookie year).
2. Booth also cant see the field.
3. Ingram is one of the worst guards in the league and most likely saw his last start today.
4. Asamoah is a ST guy
5. Evans isnt a starting CB. Probably a solid depth CB, but not a starting CB guy.

When Evans and Ingram are the only guys seeing snaps from that draft, thats pretty rough. Then on top of that we know all offseason we have a horrific OL and we dont go out and sign a single FA or use a single draft pick on an OL? Seriously? Instead we go out and give 13 mil to Marcus Davenport of all people. A bust that cant stay healthy and guess what, 3 games in and the dude has only played 4 snaps.

No surprise that the team looks this bad. You cant expect a team to get better when the front office whiffs on back to back offseasons.

Yeah, the 2022 draft was terrible. Addison appears to have been a solid pick, but not at a big position of need. There really hasn't been nearly enough attention to the lines on either side of the ball.

finally got a win, but not without some continued unfortunate turnover luck

running game is looking good
carolina didn't really seem like they were overly concerned with winning that game. no urgency and just content to move methodically down the field the whole game
good pass rush too
harrison smith was all over
davenport got home a couple times

Not really an impressive win, but at least it’s a win.

Maybe the first time I’ve seen a DB with 3 sacks in one game.
