If you need anyone I'll do it again. Took last year off. And no, you definitely don't want expansion. I did it with my Sports class in HS with 20 and it was a nightmare.

I was just thinking the other day it'd be cool to do a realGM fantasy football league, so if there are any extra spots or anyone drops out I'm down. Wish I had seen this sooner!

We could also just start another league, i'd be down with that if someone wants to create it.

Re: RealGM Fantasy Football VI
The draft is the exact same date as my in person HS buddy keeper cash league unfortunately.
[Un?]Lucky for you guys, I steamrolled through those clowns last season and as reigning champ, have back-to-back picks, which should give me about ~20 minutes between trips to the big board. I should be able to Mrs. Doubtfire my way through this thing, but I'll probably be pretty lax in the chatroom, as if anyone will find this a problem.

If there's enough interest for a 10 team league I'm in too.

Re: RealGM Fantasy Football VI
Was just looking over the rules/scoring--- I've never been in a league with specific defensive positions (DB/DL) before... how highly are they valued? Like do they produce similar to kickers? or maybe iffy WRs? Is a stud DL who racks up sack totals gonna be on par with an average RB? When can I expect the first one to be drafted? Are there player rankings (Berry, Eisenberg, etc) with defensive players included or are we just kinda on our own there?
Really any tips/warnings will help. My long time league is PPR and with strictly D/ST and K. I've done classic scoring a while back, but again, with the D/ST setup.

Re: RealGM Fantasy Football VI
They're not valued high at all. The defensive players will get you 4-5 points each week if you're lucky.
- Kickers get 1 point for PAT and 3+ points for FGs made (anywhere from 3-5)
- RBs will get 1 point for every 10 yards, 6 points for TD
- DL will get 1 point for a sack
So even if you have a DL who has 3 sacks in a game all you need is a mediocre RB to match that by getting 60 yards or a TD. Someone last season had Karlos Dansby which got them 104.5 points which turns out to be like 6.4 points per game. And that's a pretty extreme outlier because I'd say most defensive positions will get you 70 points (and that's being gracious) which is 4.4 points. Hell, Mathis had the most sacks at 19.5 and he got Parliament 79 points.
Kickers are still more important than the defensive players. Mason Crosby alone got me more than my three defensive players combined.
Meanwhile I had Shonn Green who ran for 295 yards and 6 TDs and he got me 63.4 points. Not that it matters much though because it only matters who you actually have in your starting lineup at that date.
I wouldn't worry much at all about defensive players. I'd be more worried about the matchups your top WRs/RBs have and try and figure out who's going to go HAM. The defensive team is also more important than the three defensive players IMO.
But maybe we should ask wtb. He seems to know what he's doing or he's just winging it and getting lucky

Pfft. Don't even both drafting any defensive players. You're better off with a third kicker instead.

Re: RealGM Fantasy Football VI
Gents,
I am in a few FF leagues on ESPN. I understand the preference for a particular platform. If anyone is interested in an ESPN League, you are welcome to join this league too. The draft is Sunday night, 8/24, at 8:00 pm et.
http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/tools/join ... eKey=1dd26
The lineup is: QB, RB, 2WR, TE, 2 FLEX (RB,WR,TE), D/ST, K. So, the "2nd RB" is replaced by a 2nd FLEX.
Notable other deviations from standard PPR are QBs get 6 pts for TD passes. All players get bonus points for TDs over 40 yds as well as additional pts for eclipsing 100 or 200 total yd marks. D/STs score like RBs and WRs so draft appropriately.
This is a pretty good exercise in value based drafting if you're into that sort of thing. The snake draft is scheduled for 8:00 pm on Sunday, 8/24. Draft order will be established one hour prior to the draft.

Re: RealGM Fantasy Football VI
There has been more interest in this then I expected. Usually I'm sprawling to find a couple last teams. I've pm'ed truth18 who was the first one who wanted to jump in, but he hasn't responded. I will give him another day or two. After that I'll announce if there is a spot open, and if there is it will be first come first served via pm.
I suggest starting another league too if there is interest. Glad to hear it.
