Milwaukee has amnestied Drew Gooden. I think he'd be a perfect fit as the kind of backup PF we are missing. May even take the minimum as he's owed so much from Milwaukee.

saw the Gooden story and agree, but I also saw that Toronto may buy out Camby and I like him even more.

I'm a little concerned that Camby has never had good health, but he's had especially poor health lately. Also, I think of him as a defensive center, with no true offensive game in the post. I see him as an older, broken down player in the same vein as Plumlee, and a little more like Mahinmi than a West.

I just see Gooden as a pure PF that has a semblance of an offensive game at backup PF.

I was viewing Camby as a rebounder and shot blocker with more experience at the four than Plumlee. it would certainly be great if Miles can learn to deliver those factors from the four as well as the five. I agree that Gooden is a better scorer but I think we have that with Copeland. in any event, if we sign either Camby or Gooden, I won't be complaining that we should have signed the other one. I won't even yell if we start the season with what we have now.

Yeah, me too. I'm comfortable with our 14, right now, until I see otherwise.

I just see Camby as a pure 5. I mostly see Plumlee as a pure 5 that we're going to play out of position at the 4 at times (or Mahinmi). Ultimately, I see all 3 as pure 5's. I just think that Camby is a duplicate of Plumlee in that regards, and doesn't bring anything different, other than veteran experience, but much lesser athleticism, at this point in his career.

Yup. Essentially, took a minimum salary deal for one year.

Interesting that we let Hansbrough and DJ Augustin sign in Toronto for equal or less money than we gave their replacements. Obviously, we didn't make much of an effort to keep them.

sold out NBA season tickets!

Post#169 » by Robertchk » Mon Aug 19, 2013 2:24 am

Looks like the nets, knicks, pelicans, kings, and warriors are or will be sold out! I have to believe the pacers are experiencing a sharp increase in demand as well!

The fans are back and I believe this will be an incredible season for fans.

Looks like Felton has lost 15 pounds.
Boozer is down weight to run more with Rose back.
Nets with a player only practice.

Guys are serious and the east is preparing to run more!

Merging this into the "Around the NBA" thread, as it fits perfectly there.

BULLS, October 5th!

Post#171 » by Robertchk » Thu Aug 22, 2013 1:36 am

In your opinion, will this be the first time the world gets to see him back!? If so, even if your a pacers fan, does this excite you as a basketball fan?

I just can't wait.

haven't given preseason games a moments thought. are Bulls fans excited that the Pacers got Scola or that Granger may be healthy? basically I stopped caring about the health of players on other teams when I stopped playing fantasy basketball after Sporting News shut down their salary cap games.

Merging into "Around the NBA" as it solely discusses Derrick Rose's return from injury......

He makes TD look tiny, and this makes me smile like an idiot. Can't wait for him to demolish Noah 4 times this season.

Eh, if Timmy was standing next to him and pumping out his chest like Roy was, they'd be within an inch or so, it seems.

Throwback here, and not important info.

Former Pacer (and Celtic, Heat, Hornet, etc) James Posey has been hired as an assistant for the Canton Charge, the D-League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

I didn't want to create a new thread cause I'm very rarely on here, but I was curious if there has been any announcement or discussion about the RealGM Indy Fantasy basketball league? It looks like there are only 4 guys signed up right now. Just curious.

I got an invite in email awhile back, but think I'm going to how out this year. I've found I just don't have the time to keep up with this.

Good luck to all, though!
