Happy to have him back. Let's just hope it is in a reserve role.

This move was expected. I hope its a reasonable contract. I expect for him to grow with a consistent role in the rotation. This was definitely the right move.

I read it was 3 years with year 3 as team option. Happy to have him back.
Edit: can't find where I read about the team option, probably hoopshype.

It's around Twitter. Alex Kennedy posted it. We don't yet know the salaries, but it's 2 guaranteed years, and then a 3rd year of either team option or a non-guaranteed salary (many reporters report as if it's the same thing, and they're not).

Meh. It's about right. Remember, he had a larger deal when we got him from Philly...about that size. If the 3rd year is a team option/non-guarantee, that means it's a likely set up of $3.83m, $4m, and then non-guarantee/team option of $4.17m. I'd like it cheaper, but it's not...bad. And, it's likely a bit of a payoff for him taking the minimum this past year so quickly.
Also, keep in mind, his cap hold is for the minimum right now, and we have full Bird rights on him. So, in terms of mechanics, we'll use our cap space, make trades, and then sign him last and go over the cap to any price. He uses up nothing in terms of cap or exceptions. He's a nice little piece to keep around.

Good for Lavoy. He's earned it by patiently waiting in the wings for his shot. Wonder if Larry envisions him as a b/u 4 or a 5th big. Regardless, I think we'll see him play upwards of 20mpg next season.

Solid signing to shore up back up minutes. Lavoy deserves it.

I'm damn glad to have that guy back now we need to send him to boxing school and teach him to scowl like David West used to!
I was thinking about other vets at the PF and came up with Big Baby Davis!! For one main reason that being every time he gets anywhere near the scorers table it'll scare the hell out of Quinn Buckner!!

He's gotta be the starter.

This is great. With David opting out, Lavoy now has the chance to get significant minutes. I think he can start while Myles is still developing.
P.S. I think he could be a sleeper pick in fantasy.

I like this, the guy is an energy player with a steady mid-range pick and pop game and a rebounder to boot. He can also stand his ground defensively. Not expensive either.
Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

Lavoy went from the worst player in the NBA to this, I'm proud of the big fella.

Really? Are we out of room to re-sign Scola? Wonder if Bird can talk Larry Sanders out of retirement for the vet minimum.

If we haven't done it already we're gonna have to renounce Scola, his cap hold is about $9.25 million. That doesn't mean that we can't resign him after that. I'd call it unlikely.

When was he the worst player in the NBA? Was this a meme I never saw or something?

It's all flexible. If we don't do a S&T for Monta around Hibbert, we will have to use cap space to sign Monta, and doing so would require us to renounce our bird rights on Scola. After that, we could sign Scola using the room exception, cap space, or the vet minimum, but not Bird rights.

Re: Spears: Lavoy Allen re-signs on Multi-Year deal
I don't have a problem with bringing back Scola but I don't think it's gonna happen. I am rooting for Allen to be the starter, I want to see what he can do with 30 min a game.

He made his twitter name something related to him being ranked last.
