Brice Johnson, or Patrick McCaw. Use whichever vote helps expedite a result.

I'd roll the dice here and go for Thon Maker because I do not expect him to slip this far off the lottery. The guy is lottery material and if placed in a team that would utilize his natural style of play (no post-up's and defending monster centers), can make a fast impact in the league. I'd draft him over Brice Johnson and make him play SF alongside Paul George at PF and Myles Turner at center. We now have frontcourt players with legit length and shooting.

But in all likelihood, I think Brice Johnson or Ben Bentil will be the serious consideration here. Maybe also McCaw.

I like Brice Johnson a lot but I am hoping he won't be a Tyler Hansbrough Part 2.

Just dropped in McCaw. The poll allows you to change your vote.

MaCaw works. I hope though that we can get one or two of the B's in the second round.

Hey guys, if you're voting, please post that you did in the thread. Really not sure how one vote for Thon Maker has turned into him leading the poll.

And if you're a lurker who's reading but not registered, join up, and post in the thread, too! We may disagree, but we enjoy the banter!

seattle Supersonics fan here. thon maker is over looked. i want him to toronto in the 9 pick but it is interesting to see not many people want him or his potential. i live in indonesia and actually saw him play in australia back in 2015. he is very thin and will have problems with big players but he is a good shooter and very good basketball sense. do not force plays. in a game i watch him he crossed over the opponent instead of playing post up and he really excite the audiens.

He is a talent in many ways, but he's still super raw and many years away from probably contributing. He plays like a 2, but his speed and size would limit him to playing the 4 or 5 in the NBA, and that's a huge adjustment that many players just can never make. It's very hard to make a pick and know that you have to wait on them for 3-4 years to not only contribute, but to possibly even just look like they might be able to play in the NBA. But, for a guy like him who has always feasted on being bigger, faster, stronger, and more athletic than his opponents, he's now slower, weaker, and less athletic than many of his opponents. It's a big change.

In 10 years, we could be looking back and saying "why didn't we pick this dynamic talent". Or, in 3 years, we could be happy we didn't pick him as he's already been cut and can't make a summer league team.

That was quick. Only 10 people voted and at least one is an outsider.

Woops, late for voting Johnson to tie.

BTW, Why the Nuggets draft Dunn when they already have Mudiay?

I just now saw this thread I don't think Valentine is gonna go at 8th overall. If he's there we take him if not I'd like to trade down.

I'd rather trade up in the second than down in the first. Of course we may need to do both to get who I want. If we could get Brice, Brogdon, and Bolomboy I'd be very happy.

Outside of the guys that have no chance of ending up at 20, I would be happy with ANY of the following with our 1st round pick, and in no particular order:

Wade Baldwin
Timothe Luwawu
Demetrius Jackson
Domantas Sabonis
Denzel Valentine
Taurean Prince
Damian Jones
Tyler Ulis
Brice Johnson
Deandre Bembry
Malachi Richardson
Malik Beasley
Thon Maker (though less so)
Stephen Zimmerman (again, less so)
Patrick McCaw
Malcom Brogdon
Ben Bentil
Joel Bolomboy

And if I could get any of the above, or the following with our 2nd, I'd be happy:
Jarrod Uthoff
Caris Levert
Michael Gbinije
Anthony Barber
Kahlil Felder
Zhou Qi
Gary Payton II
Wayne Selden
Chinanu Onuaku
Pascal Siakam

I don't know enough on:
Furkan Korkmaz
Juan Hernangomes
Ante Zizic
Ivica Zubac
Petr Cornelie
Giorgios Papagiannis
(notice a theme here??)

Do not draft (at this point):
AJ Hammons
Cheick Diallo
Diamond Stone
Dejounte Murray
Robert Carter
Jake Layman
Prince Ibeh
Isaiah Whitehead
Dorian Finney-Smith

I'm low on Ulis and okay with many of your no list at spots lower than 20. I've not seen any of the foreigners play but that's true of everyone that didn't play IU or Butler or in the tourney. The write ups look good though well into the second round.
