I'm a little surprised he's not in Dallas now that he has a regular contract.

I don't know that his contractual status change will necessarily change his general status/plans within the club/roster?

it does though make him playoff eligible so he'll be with the big team then.

Correct. I mostly just meant that the change in contractual status from Two Way to NBA contract likely won't mean that Kendall Brown will all of a sudden be a rotation player, or travel primarily only with the Pacers, and not with Ft. Wayne. He's still very far down the lineup.

Not at all

It’s not easy to even find a pre draft profile on him. He seems to have been a top 100 prospect coming out of high school.

Don’t blame him for looking for more money prolonging his career.

I’m very curious to see if the Pacers front office promotes Elfrid Payton to a regular low $ contract next season based on his Mad Ant performance and the need for a cheap contract. Likewise with Tshiebwe.

Turner
Jackson
Siakam
Nesmith
McConnell
Haliburton
Nembhard
Mathurin
Sheppard
Walker
K. Brown
Payton - possibly end of bench
Tshiebwe - possibly end of bench or 2 way

Smith— free agent
Toppin - free agent
——————————————15 players above this line
Johnson — gone
McDermott —gone

2 way contact——Wong — Q. Jackson — 2024-25 draft pick — or Tshiebwe

The reason I said this about Payton is his prior NBA experience and he would be a cheap contract if the Pacers need big cap space to bring in a higher contract player in place of Toppin and Smith.

They’re on the very fringe of having to pay more high priced players if they’re going to add more star talent. Of course they are going to rely heavily upon our young talent maturing, but none of them are ready to become difference makers like Tyrese and Pascal.

As of now I am not sure if the Pacers will rely on the upcoming draft much at all. I can see them trading out to help facilitate bringing in a 3rd big star.

Also depends on what Smith and Toppin would cost to retain if the Pacers have them in their plans.

I think Toppin returns. Stix will try to get starters minutes elsewhere but if that isn't available we might be able to keep him.

I hope Toppin returns on a team friendly contract. I feel like he still has room to grow, improve his defense, and can improve his consistency increasing his useful output. I like how he is active on offense and goes to the hole for second chance buckets. I’ve seen improvement this season giving me hope that he can help us more.

If Stix gets an offer we don't wish to match, I think we'll be fine with iJax and OT.
