Wizards 69-55 terrible half for the Pacers. 41% from 2, 14-6 leading in fouls, defense atrocious. Wizards getting too many layups.

The Jeckell and Hyde Pacers on display tonight again. The question is this early in the season which are the Pacers contenders or pretenders ? I vote pretenders and hopefully they can make the playoffs. Wizards 137-123. Down double digits most of the game.

Something needs to change with this roster unless the goal is to slow play the rebuild and just re-tool or add to the project and take notes on this season’s development and deficiencies.

Positives were a good opportunity for the deep bench players to get minutes. Isiah Jackson 20 points and 13 rebounds, Toppin 16 points on 6-8 shooting. Walker looked better. Nwora 2-2 from 3 in 4 minutes.

Negatives were disappearing act by Turner, Hield slump continues 4-14, Brown 2-7 and quite frankly didn’t feel like he had any impact tonight. Mathurin while aggressive couldn’t take advantage of the Wizards a 3-20 team ? Shepherd looked lost.

So if I was coach tomorrow night against the Timberwolves in the first quarter when Buddy and Brown come out I sub with either Nwora and Mathurin, or Nwora and Nesmith to see what Nwora can do defensively while seeing if he can hit 3’s better than Buddy.

Well the Pacers had their moment of glory this season by making it to the finals of the goofy tournament. Now they're losing to the likes of the Wizards. This is how last season went they looked good early then started falling apart. This is no a play off team. At best they might make 10th in the east. They have a gaping hole at PF and a problem with size at SF they are the worst rebounding team I've seen in some time.

They could have had a number of good PF's and chose to go get Obi Toppin who looks like he should have stayed in school. He's shows a small improvement on increased minutes but he's a very poor rebounder at PF.

How long will it take Walker to get good enough to make a difference? who knows?

This team is too small too many guys in the 6'4'' to 6'5'' range and the bigs are bad rebounders.

This team will really get up for big games and really play down to other opponents huh.
