They've been back for a while, going something like 34-18 since mid-June. The only difference now that they're scoring a ridiculous amount of runs, but the winning has been there for a while. And with Hughes returning, Giambi returning, and Joba likely here by the weekend, it can only get better. I don't expect to catch Boston, but I'd take the wild card and gladly throw the Yankees 4 (Wang-Pettitte-Clemens-Hughes) up against anybody elses in October.

i dont think they'll continue to score anywhere near the way they'll do.

they got a stretch in august and that's where it all matters.

I think that's a given, they had been averaging about 15 runs a game at home over the last 4 home games. With that said, when healthy and everybody is hitting their normal ways, nothing can stop this team from putting up 5-7 runs on a regular basis.

EDIT: The Yanks fall behind 8-0 in the top of the 2nd on 5 unearned runs, and turn around and score 8 in the bottom of the 2nd

yup...7 games back if you want to be exact.
"The guy is an idiot," Pedroia said regarding Cabrera. "I dropped my bat. It kind of freaked me out. I was upset they took him out of the game. He is good to hit. He's 9-15. The guy [stinks]."

You don't know how joyous I feel when I see Yankee fans rooting for the wildcard.

It's not rooting for the wild card, obviously everybody is rooting for the division. But if the Yanks are CLOSER to the wild card than the division, it would be pretty damn foolish to focus on the division more. Once the Yanks pass Cleveland next weekend, all the focus turns to the division.

You corrected the guy for rooting the division by posting "3" as in the wild card. Obviously you are rooting for the wild card. Don't be ashamed.

Okay? And how many years have you been rooting for the wild card? 12?

LOL Yankees will never catch the Red Sox. And hopefully not Cleveland either.

I can't wait to see the 200 mil Yankees not make the post season. Torre fired, half the players traded...oh man...
