Weird day of pro football, but again Jets have to go in and take care of business against a banged up Cowboys team.

That right side of the o-line failed so badly on 4th down.

Ugh, that looked really bad for Decker. Not sure if it was his knee or ankle or both, but it looked bad.

With him out, Dallas could double Marshall though. Our tight ends or backup wide receivers aren't exactly perennial Pro Bowlers.

Winters is so bad.

And now down 1 to a team with its 3rd-string QB in. Bowles better get on these guys in the locker room.

A win nonetheless. I didn't realize there was a Saturday game until the 4th quarter, at which point I was watching a movie so I followed on my phone.

Fitzpatrick came up big again. We owe it to him to get him his first ever playoff berth. And if we do, I'll put money down Mac is getting EOY. Got our top WR and top QB for 5th and 7th round picks. Not to mention the revamp of the defense which has been terrific. No reason he shouldn't.

As for tomorrow... Go Ravens! And go the team that's playing Pittsburgh!

Just wanted to point out I made a comment a week or two ago on the Knicks Board about this team's rushing defense being a bit inflated as they haven't done very well against offensive rushing teams in the upper half of the league. This game was another example of that.

It has been that way all year that we struggle against Teams that can run on the outside. McFadden put his foot in the ground and headed straight to the sideline and then turned upfield, same with Murray from Oakland, same with Matthews from Philly and McCoy from Buffalo. Inside nobody will ever have success against this Jets front, Harrison and the others are just immovable and extremely stout. But once the rush goes to the outside our LBs are way too slow to come up and it also hurts that we have some very shady tacklers in the secondary (Cromartie, Williams for example).

I think this issue will be taken care of in the offseason when we replace Pace and Davis and when we don't have Sheldon Richardson Play OLB all the time (he was responsible for two 30 Yard runs by crashing inside early and losing contain).
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies...

McFadden's biggest gains were on the outside, but he did get nice runs up the middle. And I think you need to rewatch those losses. They ran anywhere they wanted to.

We have slow linebackers. That's the issue. Aside from TE, it's our biggest weakness. Pace is getting old, we need to upgrade. We need faster linebackers that are better in coverage and can set the edge. That has been the main issue when the D has been healthy. McFadden always seems to own the Jets as well. Maybe the Jets will finally draft an early round OLB this year. Pace has been good for us, but he benefits incredibly from Mo, Sheldon and Snacks up front. We could possibly trade Richardson or Williams after the year for a top notch linebacker, but you never know. The D would go from great to best if they added an elite pass rushing OLB. If I'm the Jets next year I'm drafting all OL and LB. Throw a TE / WR in there for good measure.
SELL THE TEAM, JIM!!! :curse:
