Opening day!

Post#1 » by Darth Celtic » Mon Apr 2, 2007 1:51 am

I don't have a good feeling about this year. Our pitching has holes like swiss cheese and even though our offense is golden, I can't see them scoring enough every day to make up for the bad starting pitching.

I hope I'm wrong.

Opening against the Indians. We need to start off taking this series. Our best pitcher can still bring the good stuff. Let's hope he remembers what dominating feels like.

I'm going to hope the White Sox win. My prediction for them this year is 88 wins. Like in 05, its going to depend all on the pitching. Our offense will be more than stellar.

Glad to have baseball back, and what better way then to start off against our most hated rival. Please dont hit Hafner ok? Thanks. Good luck guys you are definately being overlooked this year I think, but who knows thats why the season is played out.

I think our bullpen has a chance to be really, really good this season. If Danks can give us 10-12 wins and 180 IP out of the 5-slot we should be a 90+ win team.

well, accuscore only gives us a 49% chance of winning, might as well not play the game then.

BTW, Pablo Ozuna will be starting in LF for Scott Podsednik. That's good news for the White Sox as he's batted .391 against CC career wise. Podsednik is 0-2 against him.

I say that's close. I'd give us the edge if Hall was able to play tommorow because he's good against lefties and Pierzynski sucks against them.

Well, The game will just be getting over by the time I get home from work, but I'll be on to discuss.

Instead of game threads, How about series threads?

I'd be happy with Javy Lopez as a backup. He could rake, but the downside is that we'd have to have someone call the signs from the bench.

Ozzie really screwed up using Toby at 1B.

Jose Contreras gets the ball rolling in a matter of hours baby. I expect 7 innings, 6 hits, 2 runs. Thornton or MacDougal handle the 8th and Jenks closes it out. 5-2 Good Guys. Uribe celebrates his freedom with a homer off C.C.

Not a great start by Contreras to open the season. Giving up 5 runs in the first inning.
