they arent telling you what they think will happen. They are telling you what the majority of the public believes will happen.
Las Vegas is like 5% of what goes on in gambling across the united States. Theres billions more illegally going on.
they are neither the authority nor the indicator of what goes on,just the commercially acceptable choice.

And those other 95% use vegas point spreads to actually lay money on games unless they have their head up their ass.

they do and they dont. Everyone moves the lines like they feel like doing.
anyone can become a bookie and make up their own lines. You will get plenty of people on both sides of it.
I said illegal, you dont know what the underworld is doing with the lines.

I have plenty of experience. Any guy who wants business will start with Vegas lines which are made to get equal bets on both sides. If a particular bookie gets more action one way, he will adjust the thread at that point (or lay off bets to another book) to make his sides as equal as possible.

You are making a losing argument. Quite while you're behind.

a team averaging 37 points a game is not the underdog.

Oh, don't understand point spreads? For gamblers, Carolina is favored by 3 points. What this means is that Atlanta is the underdog despite points scored, playing at home, etc. So if you were to bet on Atlanta, and they lost by 2, since they were a 3 pt underdog, you actually win the bet, because they covered the spread.

If you need more elaboration, please let me know or I can forward you some documentation on the matter.

lol at I dont know point spreads or how they work. I've researched them for 3 years.
all you are telling me is what you believe to be true and suckered by time and again like every other John Doe. I know full well what the so called function is.
lol at talking about gambling like its some polite commercial business with rules that they follow.
its an illegal practice designed to screw you over no matter what.
its their objective to take money, not help you earn any.

Give it up. 3 years. You have zero clue about what you are talking about. They are out to make money and make people suckers, sure, but it's not illegal in vegas. But yes, the books and casinos are certainly out to make money so the majority of people will lose in the long run.

But this thread is for game discussion so lets get it back on topic.

lol you dont have to explain lines to me. I understand the general public perception. I'm not interested the view of a large populous of foolish cattle. They are always wrong which is why gambling profits in the first place

No kidding.

I'm sick of all these damn alternates.

Even cincy should be in their home black jerseys.

Home and away jerseys mean nothing anymore.

Yes, I couldn't agree more. On special occasions I love the throw back jersey but your right, these alternatives are just too much. I want my team looking good wearing our regular road or home jerseys.

I'm actually really glad the Colts rarely **** with any alternates. Just the classic blue and white.

I like pretty much all the Chargers throwbacks, so I don't mind, but some of the other team ones are terrible.

Do you like your Falcons this week? I'm thinking about taking the points and Atlanta at home. That's one of the four underdogs I really like this week.

I think they have a good shot, viewing it unbiased, it'll be a nice match up of something has to give. Actually playing a tough defense this time.

I'm pondering doing a 3 or 4 team parlay with 4 underdogs this weekend using Atlanta as one of the teams. Especially now that I have started this week off and I'm already up for this week. I had Houston and Cincinnati in a parlay last night. Got a bit lucky with Houston only covering by a 1/2 point over Conneticut.

You're lucky you got that spread at 27.5 because it opened at 28.

If the cardinals defense gets gashed again this week it's over. Always been known for its defense if those wheels fall over Palmer is a dead man
