Even the horses on defense are still in.

I just don't get it

Kupp is down.

See, that's why you don't play your core players in garbage time

Fortunate that 49ers get to play the same old sorry ass Rams twice a year.

They put all their money into players outside the OL. Well they won a SB so maybe worth it.

Big win, that was an important game.

Gives you a good feeling going into the bye week. 3-0 in the division with the tiebreaker over LA clinched.

Good time to go on the bye. Will allow the D-line and WR's to heal up. Good chance of having Verrett and Mitchell available coming out of the bye as well. Also gives CMC more time to learn the playbook/system.

As with any other game, there were a handful of things/plays that could have flipped the game script dramatically.

1) McVay's mystifying decision to be content with draining the clock and heading into halftime. There was a 1 minute left and LA still had a timeout left and 9ers were set to receive the 2nd half kickoff. Rams had the 9er defense reeling at the time as well. Don't know why McVay did that, but it didn't hurt my feelings.

2) Jimmy not seeing Ramsey sit down in coverage just behind the LOS, and almost (should have) came up with the interception. Jalen bobbled it for like 3 full seconds. If Ramsey hangs on to that, Rams are set up on the 9ers side of the field with a good chance to extend a 14-10 lead. At that point, the defense still hadn't provided much of any resistance. So Big break there....This was really Jimmy's only bad play the entire game. The deep ball to RMC was slightly underthrown and you'd like to see a bit better ball there, but it still hit Ray in the hands/chest and it got jarred loose. You'd like to see Ray go up to attack and high point the ball there.

3) McCaffrey's pop up fumble falling right into Ray Ray's lap, who was laying on the turf. That was an incredibly fortunate bounce. If that goes the other way and LA recovers, they are set up inside SF's 35 yard line, again with a chance to extend a 14-10 lead. Instead the 9ers go on to score and take a 17-14 lead and FIRMLY take control of game flow/momentum.

4) Higbee's brutal drop in the 4th quarter. Game was still in question at the time, with 10 minutes left and 9ers up 24-14. If he makes the catch, there is a ton of open field in front of him as most of the defense collapsed and bit on the play action fake. There was so much room ahead of him, he might have scored. Even if he didn't, Rams would have been Deep in 9er territory and flipped momentum and a great shot at cutting it to a 1 possession game. Instead Rams have to punt, 9ers keep momentum and go on to score the dagger TD, essentially ending the game.

It was nice to see the breaks go the 9ers way today. As I mentioned earlier in the thread when you are playing well it seems like more of the breaks go your way.

We're actually at the half way point.

49ers may just have to beat Seattle again and beat the Cards at least once to have a leg up on the division.

Otherwise the 3 NFC East teams have the inside track on the wildcard slots.

It's looking like NFC West will have one playoffs team. Of course the Giants, Eagles or Cowboys could fall off in the second half.

If the team went at least 7-2 in the remaining 9 games, that would be a respectable record but I don't know if I'd feel too confident in the playoffs or especially if they reached the SB against either KC or Buffalo. Or even a team like the Bengals could give them a lot of problems on defense.

Of course there are all kinds of variables about injuries across the league, especially to all the playoffs teams.

But the way they squandered games, you would have to be ecstatic if they can reach 11 wins, winning 7 out of 9 remaining games. They haven't demonstrated that they could sustain that kind of winning this season.

I'm actually not a fan of trading Wilson. He's a good RB for us and with Mitchell unable to stay healthy and Davis-Price unproven that leaves only CMC. I say definitely keep him.

I feel like the Giants will slip. They just give me the vibes of a team that's overachieving and will slip as the year goes on.

Seahawks might be the same but they keep winning so we'll see on that but it's still hard for me to imagine keeping up the pace they're on.

I feel like it's looking good for Eagles, Cowboys, and Vikings to be in it. Beyond that it's a complete and utter mess in the NFC and at least one wildcard spot is completely wide open right now and if the Giants fade it'll be two.

Still best path is to win the division and being 3-0 within it helps in that regard but plenty of chances for the team to screw it up.

Good win today and great way to enter the bye week.

Was looking pretty sketchy that 1st half but credit to both Shanahan and Ryans for making adjustments at halftime and having the team come out strong the 2nd.

Still not a fan of all the penalties and the 3rd down conversions so hopefully the 2nd half is more indicative of what the team will be going forward than the 1st half.

Great to see CMC have a great game and why I don't love the compensation we gave for him I will say if he does stay healthy the trade will be worth it.

Jimmy had a pretty efficient and great game by his standards. It would be nice if he consistently played like this more often but I'm not confident that will be the case.

Hard to get overly excited over this game given it's the Rams but can't complain about it either. At least the bye week comes at a perfect time to get guys with nagging injuries healthy and get guys back that have been injured.

Depends on what we could get for him. I wouldn't trade him for peanuts but we are seriously lacking in draft picks after the CMC trade.
