Mitch Trubisky - QB - Tar Heels

An NFC executive says UNC redshirt junior QB Mitch Trubisky is a top-10 pick.

"Accurate, good vision, athletic, tough … I think he’s a Top 10 pick," said the exec. Another NFC exec agreed with the sentiment in theory, saying Trubisky has the "accuracy and overall arm talent" to go that high. NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks compared Trubisky to Chiefs QB Alex Smith last month and colleague Daniel Jeremiah comped him to former Kansas City QB Trent Green. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Trubisky has 3,468 passing yards with a 28/4 TD/INT ratio on about 70 percent completions.

Taco Charlton - DL - Wolverines

ESPN's Mel Kiper and Todd McShay both have Michigan senior DE/OLB Taco Charlton as at least a Day 2 pick.

For his part, Kiper thinks Charlton is in the Rd. 1 mix. If he wasn't before, he is now. The 6-foot-6, 270-pounder had 2.5 sacks and nine tackles against Ohio State on Saturday, running his season total up to 8.5 sacks. "Charlton plays with good leverage for his height, has active hands and takes great angles when rushing quarterbacks," Kiper said. "He showed Saturday that he can play on his feet, which means he could fit in a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme." We also believe Charlton to be a good fit in either a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme. "He has been Michigan's best pass-rusher for the past two seasons and brings some serious upside to the table as an NFL prospect," McShay wrote. "I have Charlton as a Day 2 pick right now."

I also feel the same. Though it's loaded in certain positions overall is an underwhelming class (LBs, OTs, QBs, WRs, DTs) to say the least.

lol yeah... RBs seem to be the "bright spot" along with secondary....

as the gods laugh at us and have their way, happens to be both areas that are of least concern atm...

(see my Fournette scenario from earlier)....

Ugh, stay away from him 49ers.

What does he do throw 5-yard passes and his skills players get him a lot of YAC?

Saquon Barkley - RB - Nittany Lions

Penn State sophomore RB Saquon Barkley (foot) indicated that he expects to play in the Big Ten championship game against Wisconsin on Saturday.

Barkley suffered an injury to his right foot in Saturday's win over Michigan State, but all early indications are that it shouldn't keep him off the field for this weekend's title game. On Sunday, HC James Franklin said that the program is "expecting and anticipating" on the 5-foot-11, 222-pound sophomore taking the field, while Barkley himself said on Monday that he is "feeling fine." He indicated that he is receiving treatment and taking his health day-to-day. Barkley has rushed for 1,219 yards (5.3 YPC) and 15 touchdowns through 12 games played.

Bucky Brooks is clueless. Trubisky is nothing like Alex Smith. Dude throws strikes all over the field with barely any step. Alex had to step into his passes like Hideo Nomo, ever since he was in college, in order to get any velocity.

Hope for his sake that's true.

Sounds like more physically gifted.

Yet he's a one-year wonder?

Isn't that like what got Tom Savage drafted higher than expected but he hasn't played?

BTW, good chance the 49ers win at Chicago and drop themselves behind the Bears in the draft order.

Great news! Weather forecast for Chicago on Sunday is 42 degrees and scattered showers!

Advantage: home team who's better at stopping the run.

Malik Hooker - DB - Buckeyes

Ohio State redshirt sophomore S Malik Hooker indicated that he will be returning to the Buckeyes for the 2017 season.

"Right now it's 100-percent sure I'm coming back to Ohio State," said Hooker. In 12 games this season, the 6-foot-2, 205-pounder has had metaphorical magnets on his fingertips, picking off a stellar six passes -- three of which were returned for touchdowns -- while recording 67 tackles (5.0 for loss) and four passes defended. TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline wrote in early October that Hooker had first-round potential for the 2017 NFL Draft if he declared, while a scout told MMQB later that month that the standout redshirt sophomore is "[p]hysical, quick, fast and explosive with a great nose for the ball."

D'Onta Foreman - RB - Longhorns

Inside the League's Neil Stratton reports that Texas junior RB D'Onta Foreman will enter the 2017 NFL Draft.

Stratton relays that after narrowing his agency choice down to four, Foreman has decided to roll with Select Sports. Neither player nor agency has confirmed this report as of yet. New HC Tom Herman indicated during Sunday's introductory press conference that he had yet to speak with the junior back, but that he hoped to do so on Monday. The 6-foot-1, 249-pound Foreman was nothing short of brilliant this season, rushing for 2,028 yards (6.3 YPC) and 15 touchdowns over 11 games played. He rushed for at least 120 yards in every one of those contests. Included in that lot, a towering 341-yard, three-touchdown performance against Texas Tech on November 5.

I give us a zero percent chance of losing. The Bears are decimated by injuries and suspensions. This could very well be a franchise crippling win. The one that knocks us out of the second spot for good; costing us the #1 QB or Garrett.

I just had a nap & also a nightmare about this. Baalke got the 7th pick and drafted a no-name defensive end from Wake Forest. :waaa:

Lamar Jackson - QB - Cardinals

Louisville sophomore QB Lamar Jackson was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year.

Also on Wednesday, Jackson was, naturally, named ACC Offensive Player of the Year. Heading into the bowl game, Jackson has accrued 4,928 yards of total offense and an ACC single-season record of 51 total touchdowns (30 passing, 21 rushing). Jackson also broke the ACC record for rushing yards by a quarterback in a season with 1,538. Jackson has thrown for 3,390 yards. Jackson received 36 votes for the ACC POY honor, far more than second-place finisher Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson (five).

Josh Harvey-Clemons - DB - Cardinals

Louisville S Josh Harvey-Clemons accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

The 6-foot-4, 212-pounder, a former Georgia transfer, is one of those newfangled hybrid safeties. A third-team All-ACC selections last year, Harvey-Clemons has over 140 tackles the last two seasons.

Malik Hooker - DB - Buckeyes

NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah says Ohio State redshirt sophomore S Malik Hooker "has the best ball skills of any defensive back in the country."

The scouting community en mass has been throwing Ed Reed comps at Hooker for the past month or so. Hooker is up to six interceptions, including three pick-sixes. "His tackling is still a work in progress," Jeremiah cautioned, noting that Hooker had a "couple fly-by missed tackles" against Michigan.

Forrest Lamp - T - Hilltoppers

ESPN's Mel Kiper says Western Kentucky OL Forrest Lamp "reminds me a little bit of Brandon Scherff."

Scherff was a stud left tackle at Iowa but became an elite guard for the Redskins. Lamp is a stud left tackle at WKU who scouts project, ala Scherff, as a right tackle or a guard in the NFL. "He has good feet, is a sound technician and is very alert, which means he sees blitzes and senses stunts ahead of time. These traits are why I think he's ready to play immediately in the NFL in 2017," Kiper wrote. "Lamp is in the second-round range right now, and I'm excited to see how he performs against better talent in the Senior Bowl." Lamp will play in the Senior Bowl.
