They could fail to make the playoffs again and the same people will be running another draft and making free agency decisions and trades.

Jimmy looks like he will start, I don't know how I feel about it.

Nothing like a true confidence-builder to tell your 'QB of the future' that even if he's fully healthy he still is inferior to a limited QB with a torn thumb tissue on his throwing hand.

I've been firmly in the start Lance camp all year, but this is one game where starting Garoppolo makes sense. We need to get the ball out quickly to nullify the pass rush. That's not Lance at this point.

Only takes one or two inaccurate passes due to not having the proper feel/grip on the ball and that's the ball game.

Yeah, but that is as likely with a rookie qb in his 3rd start.

I was looking through PFF's end-of-season rankings, and Creed Humphrey, rookie C for the Chiefs, was their highest-graded player. That one hurts. A lot of people thought he was an interior OL who made a lot more sense in our scheme than Banks, and he had a fantastic rookie season while Banks never saw the field. Natural center, but most projected that he could have moved to guard.

With the way Jimmy has played and us making the playoffs adding to the fact at the weak QB free agency class, do people think we will be able to get anything worthwhile for Jimmy or are we expected to just release him?
He only has 1 year left on his contract but given the contracts going around it isn't a bad deal for 1 year. Could see Indy, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Seattle (depending on Wilson), Washington, Minnesota, Saints being options.

They said during the Rams game that Gould was hurt?

So Juice was practicing kicks?

Is Gould going to be okay for the game?

Where did you hear that?
Mitch got hurt so Gould punted, Aikman made a couple jokes about hoping Juice would now be the punter

I'd imagine we'll get some offers. His contract is a bit of an albatross (11th highest, though it's fairly reasonable for a QB at this point, as it's still higher than you'd like to pay a guy like Garoppolo. But he's shown this year that he can lead a team, generally get the ball where it needs to go, and that he's still got moments of clutchness in him. His playoff performance could be telling.

Ultimately, there aren't really any FA quarterbacks (Winston off injury and Mariota), and it's looking like a relatively weak draft class. There will be a few teams that feel they're still competitive that will hopefully be willing to pony up at least a second-round pick for Jimmy. You mentioned several of them. Carolina and Denver also come to mind. Word is teams offered a third last year, and if anything, Jimmy has upped his stock this season - though he's only got one year left on his deal, for better or worse.
