Young was going to interview with the Panthers, who have an urgent need at DE. I'm guessing he signs elsewhere, but we'll see.

Armstead to Jags for three years, $51 million. Not half bad for him. I don't expect his contract has any offset language, but one can hope...

Curious to see the guaranteed money on that contract for AA. Happy for McCloud, Falcons have a good team with a ton of weapons.

Bringing back Feliciano is a good move. Shores up our biggest weakness on the OL. I'm still eyeing adding two OL in the first four rounds of the draft, but the urgency is somewhat less. That said, there's a fair chance Williams leaves after next season either through retirement or getting cut (almost $32 million cap figure), though our cap savings wouldn't be huge. Banks will be a FA next year, also, so we need to start looking at cost-controlled replacements now.

In terms of next season, Banks started the season well before dealing with injuries and really falling apart, so the hope is that he can play better next year when he's healthy. He'll also be in a contract year. I'd love to add guys who are at least competing to start at center/RG and RT, ideally with someone who has the versatility to move to the left in a year or two.

49ers sign D'evondre Campbell. PFF score of 65.2. Not bad,

Aaron Donald retires. Wow. Big blow to Rams

In addition to Kittle restructuring and creating $10 million in space, Hargrave also restructured which created another $6 million. These moves aren't for no reason. Let's see!

Sounds like Campbell has an injury history. At this point of Free Agency I guess this kinda what you get

Oh man, that may be the biggest news of the offseason. He'd been hinting at it for the past couple seasons, but I figured that was contract talk. He's only 32 (turns 33 in May) and still at or near the top of his game. But hey, I'll take it for sure.

Reading comments from the Rams fan site. Some are just wishing him the best. Others are saying what a big loss this is for them.

Similar to us losing Patrick Willis when we did, though I'd argue that Donald is the more impactful player - partly due to position. Hurts me to say that....

I think yes/no. Donald still would have had a big impact for a couple of years. Willis retired because he felt he could no longer play at a high level. He retired after his turf toe did not respond to surgery. It was effecting him so much that he shut down that season to have surgery. Those that observed him noticed he slowed considerably. I don't think he would have come back to be the player he once was. Turf toe is no joke.

That's fair. I guess it was just the abruptness from the fan perspective (including myself) where he seemed to be his old self one minute, went out with an injury, and then was gone. But you're right, that was at least partially injury related while Donald does not appear to be.

Not only has an injury history, but he (in)famously tweeted out a post last year about not going out of his way anymore, not playing through injuries anymore, and only giving "them" the same energy "they" give me. Can't say his signing makes me excited, but if Greenlaw isn't out too long, I suppose Campbell can work as a substitute. He was an All Pro in 2021 but he isn't the same player post injuries as he was then.

Signed CB Chase Lucas from Detroit. Interesting take from a Lions fan,

Lions fan here.

Chase-stan from before we even drafted him.

Dude is all heart and man, he's got a big and nasty mouth on him. He needs to be bleeped constantly during mic'd up videos.

You got a good one.Our first Brad Holmes draft pick (24 picks) to not stay with the Lions. We wanted him back but had given him an agreement he could test free agency and we'd skip the tender. Must have had a nice offer from the Niners. He's not an elite DB but he is an elite teammate and character guy.Plays his butt off. You will see. If he is healthy, he will be one of your best special teamers. A difference maker.

From what I've read on him, seems like a George Odom-lite; good special teams guy but likely won't get any defensive snaps except in garbage time. Is that accurate? Also read that we sold Lucas on signing with the Niners by emphasizing that he will get an opportunity to compete for our open nickel/slot corner position but not sure if he has a realistic shot at that. Obviously we need better play on special teams but can this guy actually contribute as a CB?

No idea why Jimmy would take this deal, guess he gets to stay in LA and maybe play if Stafford gets hurt?
