I'm starting to think if a stud D-line/Edge/LB is available we consider them. might need that worse as much as it's still Geno at the helm, the D sucks

Meanwhile Bryce Young just went out with a shoulder injury.

I don't love Levis' pocket awareness & he'll throw some really bad interceptions. He had a Safety and 2 critical fumbles today that lost them the game.

The trade back i'm doing is with Detroit, but they aren't looking QB so i don't think they motivated. We need either Anderson or Carter and I'm leaning Carter early for interior run reasons.

Right now, my first of the year:

SEA
2.Jalen Carter
DT Georgia

-we need a scheme wrecker at the line badly. I think he's overrated as a rusher, but adds great value to an area of need.

16.Noah Sewell
LB Oregon

at 6'3" 260 and quick, he also addresses the run but plays zone drop back well enough to not be a problem in short pass game. Replaces Barton bolsters Brooks weakness.

38. Jared Verse
EDGE Florida State
trade move back a little pick and grab a pick and the best avail edge rusher.

53. John Michael Schmitz
OC Minnesota
trade

-Replaces the undersized Blythe

79. Andrew Vorhees
OG USC

at 6'6" 340 he has a shot at starting over Haynes or whichever guard is hurt and not performing like they could

Hey we got a win, errr a loss from the Rams vs Broncos!

My Christmas edition of the way too early draft would be :

Carter DT
Tyree Wilson DE
one of 3 LBs (Henry To'o To'o likely to be there by our third pick)
Siaka Ika (6'4" 355 lb agile run stuffing nose tackle)
1 of 2 Centers like John Michael Schmitz

I am not at all stoked if we fall to 5.
In my mind we need one of Anderson/Carter and Chi takes Anderson, AZ takes Carter.
If that is staring Schneider in the face I predict we trade down to a QB hungry team and see what is left.

wild day for draft order. I would guess the Bears get some offers to move back from QB hungry teams and take it and I just hope it's behind us as they want Anderson or Carter.

random draft guesses

Big combine/hype risers:
Will Levis QB - the Josh Allen hype train in combination with FOMO with teams looking to trade up for a passer sees Levis get hotter than Stroud and maybe even Young. Richardson gets some of this too, but Levis is the big riser.

Myles Murphy Edge - strength and speed numbers at combine give Murphy the Tavon Walker treatment and he could even leapfrog Carter for 2nd hottest defender to Anderson. I personally would take him 5, but still value Carter above him.

Trenton Simpson LB - it won't surprise anyone but the numbers will be eye poppingly good. I actually don't want anything to do with him, though

Darnell Washington TE - his size and numbers are freaky and he may go higher than Mayer, which is nuts because Mayer is Zach Miller to me. Either way I don't care to draft a TE with 3 gifted guys on the team already.

O'Cyrus Torrence G - Giant dude who will probably crush every strength metric. This does affect the Seahawks as he could go higher than 20 and could be our target at 20 ( a little high for a guard, but we need it).

Siaki Ika DT - repeat everything I just said about Torrence, but it's Siaki's cone and 40 time that open eyes.
Bryan Bresee DT - DTs get hot mid round with one of Ika or Bresee triggering the others pick shortly after

Whichever CB has freaky size and combine numbers... probably Ringo who has fallen in drafts but could be a dark horse. Sauce and Woolen's success and the positional value unsurprisingly makes this a hot ticket.

This article had some great insight on the draft disguised as a drew lock writeup. I do expect to see the club sell qb draft for their own leverage either way

I am out on Will Levis. My hope is that the Colts fall in love with him.

Tyree Wilson will keep rising. He'll test well. Teams will fall in love with his size & potential. He'll be all over the Hawks radar. In fact, I think he's the early favorite to be the pick. Assuming both Carter & Anderson are off the board.

I love me some Darnell Washington. He's my #1 TE.

Ringo is actually one of the more overrated prospects in this class imo. His draft stock will continue to fall.

Fully agree on Levis. Which QB do you prefer? I'm not really decisive on Stroud, Richardson (makes sense if we tag Geno for 1 year), or Young. Young for sure is the best passer/brain combo right now but that size thing does spook me even after the success with Russ as russ was at least thick enough to get sacked a bunch.

My hope is that Raiders, Falcons, or Panthers jump to 1 instead of the Colts as that gives us a fighting chance at Carter/Anderson (fairly certain cards prefer Anderson). I do think there is more end depth though whereas my DT rankings would be Carter>Bresee>Ika>Mazi Smith>Dexter and I expect that to be gone by end of round 2 other than Smith maybe. He and Ika are the only NT prospects and I do think we need that.

Top 10 draft Linebackers
not sure I share the Simpson man crush to that degree. I also think Pappoe is underrated.

Sewell is my favorite considering our run stopping need.
