He's going to be worth that to someone but not the Hawks. Keep Lock as your bridge QB and up the Russ return by another 2 picks. Take Stroud at 2 over all let him sit half of next year and pour draft capital into the defense and O-line. The temptation is to put the exclusive on Geno and grab that blue chip guy for the defense, but I don't think that makes the Hawks a contender. Lock nearly beat Geno out for the QB spot anyway(hindsight what it is that would have been a disaster). Use your second 1st and 2 seconds to put C.J. in the best position possible and enter the following year as the most interesting young team in the league.
I just don't see Seattle getting another chance to get a guy as highly rated as Stroud.
Thoughts?

I'm a fan of Stroud myself. But I'm just not sure the team will go that direction. Every indication is that they fully envision Geno as the guy.

I've suggested that they resign Geno to a shorter deal (2-3 years) or tag him for a year, while also picking Stroud & have him sit for a year. That wouldn't be the worst outcome.

As far as what he's worth around the league? I don't see another team giving up picks for him. His highest value would be with Seattle.

Assuming they pass on Stroud, and add a defensive playmaker with Denver's pick, they could take a gamble on someone like an Anthony Richardson later on in the draft. But he would need to sit for a year or two at minimum. Teams are going to fall in love with his tools. But he still needs a ton of work as a passer.

If we are going to keep Geno I like Hendon Hooker later in round 2 or early round 3 if he's going to be available. He will definitely need to sit and learn but he's got so much talent to tap into.

Hooker is someone I had my eye on. I think I talked about him in the draft thread.

The negatives with him is that he's an older prospect (24) & will turn 25 next year. I don't think his ceiling is all that high if I'm being honest. He also suffered an ACL injury somewhat recently. Which is another hurdle for him to get over.

I'd be surprised if you guys didn't resign him.

Maybe something like $20M/ a year over 3 years...$10M signing bonus

It will probably be closer to 30M APY.

3 years/75-90M is a good estimate.

He's played like a borderline top 10 QB this season.

QB rating- 2nd
QBR- 5th
Pass yards- 7th
TD's- 4th

Richardson has the look of a seahawk gamble... I don't think Stroud is around and i do think we are very much in the Miles Murphy pick with 5 and next will be LB, CB. or a sliding DT. if He's there.... yeah maybe but doubt it with the 1st...1st.

This team is a good QB away from being a real contender. I think you have to plan on taking one in the upcoming draft.

Or you can take Dak off our hands. He would be a good fit for you guys.
