Here are my thoughts on some of the initial names to come out.

Quinn was further down my list. I have to say that I'd be less than thrilled about the hire. Especially after what we saw this weekend. I'm hopeful that John will go for someone younger if I'm being honest.

Ben Johnson is the hot name. But he would be a terrific hire imo. The Commanders reportedly are hot on him as well. So, we would have to act fast. But he checks most of the boxes. Offensive coach, Good X's & O's guy, Outgoing leader, etc.

Bobby Slowik (Texans OC) is the other name that's hot at the moment. He comes from the Shanahan tree. Another up & coming OC.

If I had to pick a dark horse candidate, it might be Raheem Morris (Rams DC). He's outgoing & has the demeanor of a head coach. He has experience & is well respected around the league. He's been the Rams DC for the last 3 years. He was with Atlanta prior to that.

Evero (Panthers DC) is an interesting name. He's a very good DC. He was with the Broncos in 2022, left this past year & that defense took a nosedive. He's another Fangio disciple.

I'm less familiar with some of the other names: Raiders DC, Dolphins OC, Giants OC. But none of them really standout to me with what little background I do know.

My preference would be hiring an offensive guy. But if they do hire a DC, I hope it turns out not to be Dan Quinn.

Yeah Dan lost his shine and Raheem... idk was bad for his stint as a head coach and his defenses have peaked at "solid"

Falcons get Bill with Matt Patricia and McDaniel as staff

Chargers get Harbaugh

Vrabel to Washington if they don't steal johnson

I have a feeling Raheem Morris is the leader in the clubhouse. Just a gut feel.

I had a feeling that Spoon would be the pick days before the draft. So, we'll see if I'm right about Morris.

I'm really hoping that Quinn isn't in the mix. I want them to go in a completely different direction.

Raheem is not at the top of my list. But I do think he's a legit candidate. I could see John really liking him & the two of them getting along.

It also turns out they can't even talk to MacDonald until the Ravens are eliminated.
