Keep in mind...didn't the 'Hawks say they were separating the president and GM roles at the beginning of all this? Carroll wasn't given the title of president, so does that mean we are in the market for two big front office guys? Say a finances guy like Kahn and a scouting guy like Ross? I may have completely misinterpreted their statements to the Fritz Pollard Alliance but...

Wow, the staff is coming along nicely:

Pete Carroll - HC
Jeremy Bates - OC, did you know he was the only OC that Shanahan EVER let call the plays?
Ken Norton Jr - LB, Awesome.
Alex Gibbs - OL, LEGEND. He created the ZBS. Solari was better then good and we struggled, now we have one of the top 2 OL coaches EVER. Let that sink in for a little bit. And here's a video to help explain it: http://www.battleredblog.com/2008/8/1/5 ... riefly-dis

Agreed completely. The staff is coming together nicely. With so many new starters on the OL needed, let's do some draftin' and have them all learn the ZBS together as infants.

You know, I was on the "excited to intrigued" wavelength last year when Mora was putting together a staff of talented, up-and-coming coaches on the defensive side of the ball and a competent OC who had a system the players were more or less familiar with.

They failed miserably.

But this collection of talent? It's really quite impressive. If you view the HC as the figurehead, the guy who keeps everything in order and relies on his staff to take care of their responsibilities...Carroll seems like a good fit. He has an energetic personality that has proven to relate well to NFL caliber players.

And the staff he's assembling seem to indicate talented people who know football believe in his ability.

If Gibbs wanted to stay in Texas or join Shanahan in Washington, he could have. But he came here. And that is pretty **** cool.

And Norton's done a great job with NFL caliber LB talent at USC.

I don't know much of anything about the defensive coordinator, but he's Carroll guy and has some NFL experience.
