Pacman suspension

Post#1 » by SD2042 » Tue Apr 10, 2007 6:03 pm

Looks like Adam " Pacman" Jones will be suspended for all of the 2007-2008 season. I would post the link, but everybody should see the story above in the realgm wiretap.

We better draft a CB this year...

Not only is Nick Harper getting old...but our CBs suck outside of Harper and Pacman...

I think secondary should be addressed in the first round now. We can find a system WR in a later round. Looks like the NFL is bringing the hammer down.

Well...for sure we need to adress CB, DE, and WR in the first three rounds...

I hope to god we don't pick an RB in the first day, as a lot of mocks have us doing...

Yes, hopefully it's another year of Reynaldo Hill/Woolfolk on Reggie Wayne.... :)

As long as we have a good Safety behind them, then I'm not TOO worried.

It wasn't just Hill and Woolfolk who were bad, Thompson was equally bad on the same side of the field.

(As a side, I think that might have been one of the reasons why Pacman was hardly ever thrown to... he had Chris Hope on the same side of the field as him)

Damn, I was not happy to here this news. I first heard it on the radio. Some fool called in and said that the commish made it rain on Pacman. When he said that, I knew it was bad news. He played a key role in several Titans victories last year and his presence will be missed on the field no doubt. Hopefully this wakes this guy up but you would have thought that he would have gotten the message by now. Maybe missing out on his million dollar salary for a year will do what jail, talking and reasoning with him couldn't.

Any word on an appeal?

Nothing yet. Pacman doesn't want to comment yet just in case he says something idiotic out of frustration, and that he is going to "chill" (smoke more weed?) for a couple of days.

His attorneys seem pretty set on appealing this however ("Will not allow the NFL to make an example of Jones with a season-long suspension")

NFLPA is probably going to be involved as well...

This is great. We are going to be garbage next year.

We went from a team on the rise, with lots of cap room to make this a super bowl team. To a team thats going to get a top 5 draft pick next year. We lost our best WR,RB,CB, a good run stuffing DT. But we sure signed us Ryan Fowler to a 5 year deal, Mike Reindfelt is THE MAN.

Seems kinda unfair to start him off with an full season suspension in my opinion. I think they should have gradually worked him up to that. Maybe 8 games this time and a season on his next offense. Something along those lines.

Considering the fact that Pacman kept staying in trouble off the field constantly. The league had to draw a line somewhere and had to make an example out of him. Despite his talents, Pacman was not trying to do his best to avoid unneccessary trouble. He needs this suspension. And while he's on it. The guy needs to get his priorities straight and decide whether he needs to behave better or continue down this road to the point where he may get kick out of the NFL. Hopefully this suspension will make him think about rethinking his priorities.

I highly doubt the suspension will be reduced. From everything I've seen, the players union is on board with the commissioner on this one. It's pretty lonely in Pacman's world right now.

The Titans have to draft the top CB in the draft and it's quite possible for Dwayne Jarrett or another good system WR in the 2nd. But definietly, Pacman has to be sent a message that his antics won't be tolerated. He's an excellent football players but he isn't larger than life.

Pacman returning to WVU? ...

I don't knkow how to feel about that... it makes me feel good that he's trying to go back to school to finish his degree...
but it doesn't make me feel good that he's gonna be hanging around the troubled WVU Football team probbly....

^^^My thoughts exactly. He seemed to find a decent amount of trouble went he went to school there before. Not sure if this is a good idea.

Well, looks like Pacman IS appealing ...

If NFLPA gives him backing, then I could see the suspension reduced to 10-12 Games or so... But if not, the 16, with the chance to be re-instated at 10 will probably be kept

Well whatever, I guess he can just go back to college and bide his time. Not like college girls can get you into any trouble.

You sure about that? Pacman got money. And nothing is a powerful motivator than the green that is money.

Hopefully... he finds religion, or a cult, or a group ... or something ...
that turns him into a sane, normal person....
