You think DJ will apologize for this:

No apologies and if we sign him DJ will be doing alot of that on Big Baby in practice. Hope no one gets hurt especially Davis' feelings.

if we didn't sign Lamar for his personal issues. Ivan is a much worse distraction to others in the locker room than Lamar's crack habits or Collins' love life.
I think we could use a bruiser that can just shove Randolph or Bogut on their asses when they're trying to bully Blake and not care about a suspension. Plus he can play, and we have a strong coaching and locker room to keep his antics in check. I'd like both Johnson and Davis very much. It's not an ideal pairing to bring off the bench, but it's the best available and I can see it working.
in hypothesis, Ivan sounds good. but the track record speaks for itself.
scholarship denied due to anger issues
banned for life from Korean Basketball League with fine
dismissed with fine for whatever action detrimental to the team by the Atlanta Hawks
now kicked out of Chinese Basketball Association
frankly, i can see him losing us a playoff game with a flagrant 2 at a crucial moment
ehhhhh f it.

Glen Davis would be a GREAT addition for the Clippers. That would make a really nice three man rotation at PF/C. Possibly/probably the best in the playoffs. Assuming that he had a good relationship with Doc, I would think it would be a done deal.
Get Reddick back healthy and in the groove before the playoffs, and I think that the Clippers have a real shot against anyone.

This one addition would drastically improve the strike power of our bench. We will now have two options; Crawford around the perimeter and Davis in the post.

Re: Glen Davis
I would still rather have Hawes, but Big Baby may come a lot cheaper & he already knows how Doc coaches. Reddick has to get healthy for this team to have a good playoff run + we need a wing (Granger?)
What do you think BB Davis wants, 3 years 12 million or will he sign for a vets minimum until the end of the season?

I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Re: Glen Davis
Just so you know when it comes to buyouts, Davis won't go to the Nets for example just because they can offer him more money. For example his buyout was something around the 6 mil mark. So if we offer the min which for this example will be 1 mil. That doesn't add onto the 6 mil. It means we pay 1 mil of the 6 mil and the Magic now only pay 5. So there's no point in offering him a ton of money(that I'm pretty sure we don't have) as an added bonus for coming here.

Davis was also a teammate of Redick and Turkoglu in Orlando. Combined with the fact that he won a ring with a Doc, I think he should fit right in chemistry-wise.

Another indication that Brooklyn will not get Big Baby:

The Brooklyn Nets are expected to sign Jason Collins to a 10-day contract later today, according to a report from ESPN.com, which would make him the first openly gay athlete in NBA history.
...
The Nets had been mulling the decision of whether to sign Collins for days, but were waiting to see whether Glen Davis, who was recently bought out by the Magic, would potentially sign with them after clearing wwaivers. But according to Shelburne, Davis has given the Los Angeles Clippers “a sense that he’s decided to join them.”

Really glad it looks like we will get Glen Davis, he has a chance to really give a boost to our bench. I'm also glad we didn't end up signing Jason Collison for the simple fact of the media circus the players and coaches would have had to deal with.

Re: Glen Davis
Big signing for us. We get a capable guy who's not on the tail end of his career, is familiar with our coach/players, and fits a position of need.
If we can pick up maybe Johnson, I think we can call it a successful haul. Granger would be nice, but I think we have enough depth in his position, and from what I've read, he's pretty much done. He's not going to be providing much at this point, unlike Davis or Johnson would.

Re: Glen Davis
if we sign Ivan after getting Davis, i would prefer that we give him a 10 day deal. just try him out to see if he can actually get along with his own teammates first. having a psycho (as kyleM put it) only works well if he only goes psycho at the opposition, not when he goes nuts on teammates too.
ehhhhh f it.
