Because it is a thumb injury he will still have his defense. Basically he will be more of a distributor and take less shots. I think if you are careful, you can play restricted minutes with a thumb injury and still add value to your team.

Damn. It looks like Brandon Jennings tore his Achilles. It hasn't been confirmed as of yet, but I'd be surprised if it were something else. :nonono:

That sucks. Detroit had been playing really well since dumping Josh Smith

sorry guys but I am not a fan of jennings. the best thing the pistons could do is get rid of him. they will never win anything with him.

Maybe you should have been watching Pistons game since they got rid of Josh Smith. They were winning BECAUSE of him. Don't let stats and past seasons cloud your judgement. He was having a great comeback season up until this injury. He had 21 assists the other night as well.

I think O'Neal could work nicely with Hawes as a backup.

I stand by what I said about Jennings. I watched him for a few seasons and the only thing he cares about is himself.

who cares if he's selfish on the court?

He tore his achilles. That's sad regardless of how he plays.

I feel bad that he got hurt and I would not wish that on any player. however that does not negate the fact that my feeling about him as a player does not change.

doesn't change that you don't like him or that you think he's an unwinning player in spite of detroit's resurgence?

Dallas gets worked over at home by Memphis.

time to laugh? Say they aren't contenders? Talk all day in the General Discussion about how they don't want to run into Memphis in the 1st round?

lol, nah….only say that stuff about the Clippers.

liking or not has nothing to do with it. I do not know the guy other than watching him play. he may be a great guy of the court. I just believe he is not a guy you are going to win big with. I have been watching and coaching basketball for over 40 years and pretty much seen it all. your evaluation may differ from mine and I respect that.

Via wiretap

The NBA has agreed upon a five-year deal with Tencent Holdings of China to televise games and other programming.

The deal will be worth between $500 million and $700 million.

Cap will probably raise more then it was already projected to be.

This actually wont impact the cap all that much. The new tv deal is worth over $2 billion per year. This deal only adds $100 mill to that yearly total.

The projected BRI is somewhere in the $7.4+ billion dollar range with the new TV deal. 44.74% of that, minus projected benefits and then divided by all 30 teams sets the cap. So the most the TV deal with China could bump the cap is between $1-2 million.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

anyone still think okc will make the playoffs? they lost again tonight and have been kind of choppy as of late.

even when they got KD and westbrook back i was thinking it'd be way too hard to catch up to phoenix. and now phx is still playing quite well and OKC hasn't caught fire the way they needed to in order to catch up.

I consider both OKC and SAS top 4 teams even though they won't get there. Are they great now? No but all they need is a bit of luck with health and to regain some chemistry and they are back up there with the best. I'd rather play POR, HOU, DAL any day than go up against those two in the playoffs. Whether OKC make the playoffs will be close and will depend on how quickly they can get back into form as PHO and NOP are both vying for that 8th seed.

Yesterday is when I really started to wonder if they would make it. At the time, Phoenix was hanging with the Warriors and OKC had dropped another.

OKC is 14-8 (.636) with Durant . If he doesn't miss any more games and they are able to continue winning at that pace, they'll win 45. If Phoenix maintains their current pace for the rest of the way, they'll win 47.

OKC is 4 games out (only 3 back in the loss column), but lead the season series 2-0 against the Suns. They'll meet in OKC on the 26th and again in Phoenix at the end of March. The tiebreaker could possibly be the difference maker for them. David Kahn (I know, I know) once said that the NBA has a way of "producing some pretty incredible story lines." I already feel that the Thunder get the "benefit of the doubt" more often than not. The Lakers were on the verge of missing the playoffs during the Dwight Howard era, but things just happened to go their way down the stretch. I would not be surprised if things shook out that way for OKC as well.

I'm pulling for them to get in. I would much rather root for Phoenix to make it, but I like the idea of OKC meeting up with GSW in the 1st round. I'd also love for Memphis and San Antonio to square off in the 1st round, but I'm not going to get my hopes up for that.
