The North Star for West

I believe West initially considered the Spurs and Golden State when he opted out. Then the Wizards entered the picture with his consideration narrowed down to San Antonio and Washington since the Wizards had the ability to offer him more money. Then Cleveland jumped into the fray where it boiled down to the Spurs and Cavs. The Spurs seemed to be the only constant in his consideration. Still surprising (and admirable) that he left so much money on the table for a chance to contribute as a championship contender.

Rajiv Maheswaran: The math behind basketball's wildest moves

Basketball is a fast-moving game of improvisation, contact and, ahem, spatio-temporal pattern recognition. Rajiv Maheswaran and his colleagues are analyzing the movements behind the key plays of the game, to help coaches and players combine intuition with new data. Bonus: What they're learning could help us understand how humans move everywhere.

It's a 12-minute video. It's a glimpse into some of the information technology that teams are using. It's tip of the ice berg, but interesting nonetheless.

Reports saying the Warriors will not stretch Wallace, but they have until the end of August to do so. If they did, they would save ~$25+ mil in luxury taxes, depending on the new cap/tax figures.

Im guessing they will try to shop him in another deal before deciding on stretching him.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

While DA Jordan wants to hang with his new buddy Chandler Parsons in Dallas, CP3 runs in social circles that includes LeBron, D-Wade, and Carmelo.

Worst about it, they won't need Crawford with him there, so any trade for Birdman or McRoberts is probably out of the question.

Great by move by Houston as long as Lawson gets back on track and isn't hindered by any of his recent troubles. The West man does not let up. I mentioned this previously, but it's important for Western teams to lock down a top 2 seed. The 3/6 and 4/5 match-ups (health permitting) are going to be basically on par with the Clipper/Spur series this past season.

Look-Back at 2014 NBA Draft

Post#2100 » by Ranma » Tue Jul 21, 2015 4:47 pm

Slow Mo--he apparently doesn't like the nickname anymore--was among the draft prospects I wanted the Clippers to select that year instead of Wilcox. Others included Glenn Robinson III, K.J. McDaniels, Cleanthony Early, and the Greek Freak's brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo.
