I just wondered what your thoughts were on this shocking loss.

False dilemma. The superior franchise, front office, coach and players outplayed us on our home court, and we just rolled over and let it happen.

I would say both. Clippers blew it, but Houston just went crazy in the 4th. I mean JSmooze was drilling 3 after 3. Clippers also seemed to go into coast mode when up 19, which you can't do.

rockets were lucky to have 2 guys who really can not shoot have a career night in a game like this. the chances of that happening again are not going to be. when jj and matt are not making shots and jamal is a no show, this team is in trouble. blake and cp3 can not do it alone.

both but way more blowing the game than houston winning it.

basically doc has to have minimal brain function as a coach to win the game. that obviously didn't happen.

I am still in total shock that Smith made 4 three pointers last night and 3 in the fourth quarter alone. That is nearly impossible. He is a terrible 3 point shooter

Well Houston was 7/11 3PT in the 4th. Clippers did not do much on defense and stagnated on offense trying to force it to their stars and going away from what got them where they were. Houston also picked it up on defense.

So it was a combination of the Clippers giving Houston the opportunities on both ends (stagnant offense made their defense more effective, poor defense and communication gave them the opportunities to make those shots on offense) and Houston taking advantage of them to the highest degree.

Doctored Performance

Post#12 » by Ranma » Sun May 17, 2015 9:24 am

Let's see. A bunch of us have been clamoring for defensive wing players and more rebounding, because you know, "defense wins championships". Defense and rebounding are generally a result of effort yet Doc continues to play Jamal Crawford extended minutes despite typically exhibiting little interest in doing either. This is also not to mention Doc's flawed roster-building or mis-handling of players. And somehow, he is flabbergasted that his Clippers team collapsed and allowed the Rockets an opportunity to pull off one of the biggest comebacks in NBA postseason history? Dude has a serious blindspot to his own glaring shortcomings.

Andrew Sharp, Grantland (5/15/15)
They were up 19, at home, in a series-clinching game they had to have. And they blew it. Blake Griffin has gotten a lot of very deserved credit the past few weeks, but whether it was against the Spurs, Game 2 of this Rockets series, or last night, he sure does have a tendency to freeze in the fourth quarter. Whether he wears down or tightens up, he was invisible when the game was falling apart. Chris Paul? He couldn’t have been better carrying this team against the Spurs in Game 7. Not last night
...

The Rockets deserve credit for hitting shots down the stretch, but that was more collapse than comeback. Everyone on L.A. got tentative. After a Paul layup with just under seven minutes left, the Clippers went scoreless until the final minute. By then they were down 10. They were outscored 40-15 in the final quarter, nobody wanted the ball except for CP3, and Blake couldn’t score at all (0-for-5 in the fourth). I’m describing all of this as literally as possible because no description could be more incredible than what actually happened. Also, beyond sketching out the details, I’m pretty much speechless.

They blew the series you had a chance not 1, not 2, but trice times to win it but could not come out with one more win.

u can just as easily say if hte rockets played defense the first 3 games they would've won in 5 or 6. also gave the clippers one last chance when they decided play the clock instead of the game. if a series goes to the final game, whoever wins earns it. no excuses

Team has a real bad issue bouncing back after chokes again. Game 6 was game 5 last year and the quit today. Guess the Spurs just ran out of gas in our next game comebacks.
