it was bledsoe and caron butler for dudley and redick.

so after all the chips fell, it was:

Caron Butler, Bledsoe, and a 1st round pick for Redick. :upset:

Damn, was Caron sucking that bad? Because if not, seems like he could fetch Redick alone. I asked because I liked Bledsoe, but maybe he wanted to leave.

caron was on his last legs. the redick trade was really just a S/T so he could get here for the price he was asking for. really the trade was about moving bledsoe for dudley. bad on many fronts.

I've said it quite a few times in here already, but no, that's not how it worked. You either got someone to take Butler's contract in a three team trade or Redick would sign with the T-Wolves. And for someone to take Butler's deal you'd have to include Bledsoe as an incentive. Getting Dudley out of it was not a bad deal really.

If Doc just let Dudley stick around for this season, he erases like half of his bad moves.
Trying to get rid of him sent him down the rabbit hole and crap signing after crap decision after crap decision.

and competitive people don't take responsibility for things…well, not outwardly. They don't feel like they owe it to you or me or the media and they don't.

you guys ever see Aaron Rodgers say, "my bad" or "that was my fault" after a game? HE NEVER does and it used to bug me out.

I have no doubt he's aware of his short comings and that he hears all of his criticism.

Everyone is in agreement. Doc needs a real GM who, at the very least, is sharing powers with him 50-50. He can focus on the stuff Doc doesn't care about, and isn't good at, and frankly doesn't even have time for.

I don't think Redick and Dudley would have been a bad haul if Doc listened to Dudley and didn't run him and his fractured knee into the ground.

i think it would have been looked at as a great move, actually.

cause we'd be in the WCF right now, possibly the favorites. and we'd have actual wing depth and whatever we traded that first-rounder for (avery bradley? wilson chandler?)

This is true, not to mention that it would probably have saved the team a draft pick and given some depth at SF this season, but then again, the front office didn't know about the hard cap, so maybe not.

Dudley was a good addition in thought, but was never given the opportunity to play at 100%.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

the original thread is about doc shirking responsibility and coming up with excuses on how he capped the championship equity of a very strong team with his consistently misguided personnel moves. years ago.

much different from anything going on now. so no, not relevant.
