The Clippers squeak by but only because Utah didn't come through rather than the Clippers sealing it. Glad for Game 7 but nothing to really celebrate. More relief than exuberance.

There were a couple times I thought we had this game and we almost gave it away. At least we won and have Game 7 on Sunday.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

eh, of all people i know what it's like to be the critical one, and clips didn't exactly "seal" it at the end, but clips played some pretty good D in the 4th. it wasn't just utah shooting themselves in the foot, because simply put they were outplayed by the clips.

If they lost this game I would have been depressed for a week. I said to myself after Austin hit the 3 that even the clippers couldn't blow a 10 point lead in 1:30, but they almost proved me wrong. It seems like no lead is safe with them

Clippers did enough over 48 minutes to win a road playoff game. Saying they didn't seal it is more of a stylistic matter to me. We weren't ahead at the end by accident.

Perhaps but he was probably afraid they were going to foul him

I'm smarting more from CP3 missing his last shot, which is not bad in and of itself, but he hasn't been able to close out a game with a clutch perimeter shot. The clutch 3-pointer from Game 5 doesn't count because it didn't actually lead to a win. I'm just concerned as I expect Chris to actually be better at it because I believe I saw somewhere that he's actually rated as a pretty clutch player in the closing minutes of close games.

I was more perturbed with DJ missing what looked like an easy layup off that rebound of CP's miss. Glad to see our defense step up for once in the closing moment, but as you noted, our box out and defense for the whole game has been lacking any consistency.

Utah had been hitting all the clutch perimeter shots in this series or pretty damn seems like it, so it was a bit surprising they didn't finish out their momentum run to close out this game and series. Not that I'm disappointed in the results, but the way we got there still disappoints me despite some better signs. We had a flashback to Houston with a big lead in this game, after all.

Victory. Can't wait for Sunday. Hopefully get the W but I still expect we will get wiped out quick by GS. 5 games max especially without Blake.

Despite 6 straight years of 50-win seasons (I count the lockout season, winning percentage-wise), we have never had an easy 1st round matchup. The one year we finished in the top 3 with 57 wins (would've been a 1-seed in the recent years), we were matched up with the 51-win GSW. All of our first round wins took 7 games. Talk about a snake-bitten franchise. Even when at their best, nothing is easy.

Who Saved The Clippers Season?

Post#96 » by Wammy Giveaway » Sat Apr 29, 2017 8:30 am

A Fox Sports article lists Doc Rivers and Chris Paul as the saviors. Paul nearly choked the game away in the last two minutes, and Doc has irrational confidence in his favorites. So many tweets were directed at Doc today.

Clearly, it was the coach's son who saved Paul's legacy and his father's job.

Paul made two crucial turnovers but he was double teamed and his teammates need to get in position to receive the pass. Paul isn't perfect but his positives drastically out weigh his negatives. There is no other Clipper i would prefer to have the ball in his hand than Paul

The first turnover was dumb, could have been avoided. The second turnover was still not good, but Redick saw that Paul was going to get doubled (Utah was waiting), but he was just running into the front court without even looking back, so that was kind of dumb by Redick there. You have to be looking and have to go back and help.
